That's odd.
When I removed mine, each of the three wires from the sensor had a separate little bullet connector which clicked into a plastic housing. It was quite easy to remove them, however reconnection was tricky because they could potentially be connected in the wrong order.
I found it difficult to connect the wires with the sensors installed because isn't much slack. It's
much easier to connect the wires first, then twist up them up anti-clockwise so that they untwist as you screw in the sensor.
