Yep, that's how it works on mine. I also think that when it is in 3rd and I mash on it, Mr. Powerlight  comes on as it shifts down to 2nd. I'll see what it does today when I go to my second home,work .

Ok, I checked it out. Mr. Powerlight comes on when it is in 'D' with the 'Manual' button on. I guess it just thinks it's business as usual when it lights and then downshifts to 3rd.
