As has been discussed in a previous thread, a number of us SVX'ers are participating in autocrossing with the local Greater Washington (D.C) Section of the Mercedes Benz Club of America (MBCA). Three of us participated today (Sunday, 22 May) in the second autocross of the season.
As promised, there are some pics in my locker. Mike will potentially post some video in a couple of days. I was the only one today running a SVX - yep, my son in his SVT Ford Focus beat me again. His time was 48.8 sec compared to my 49.9 sec run (in the morning pratice runs, I had a 48.9 sec (lost a full second in the afternoon
). Mike was running his '78 Porsche (turned a 50.00 sec run) and Ron ran is 240SX Nissan (turned a 56 sec run).
Ron's 240SX, BTW, only has 230,000 miles on it!!!
Great fun was had by all. Mike and Ron will post their thoughts later I am sure. Bill (SVXRIDE) is usually running his black '92 SVX with us, but he was out of town this weekend.
The SVX's may not be the fastest in G Stock, but we aren't often embarrassed either
