There is none. The buying public has not shown that they consider AWD a necessity yet. Therefore US automakers could really care less.
But let's flip that around....
show me a comparable import that has RWD and the performance of a Trans Am for less than $28,000.
or
show me a comparable import that has 4WD and the performance of a Silverado for any price.
