Is it coming from ALL directions? Bearing failure will manifest itself (usually) at one corner or another. Try rotating your tires and see if the noise changes (BTW what kind of tires are you running? Check the tirerack.com site for their reviews and see if your tire is typically noisy). If a bearing is about to go, YOU'LL KNOW IT. The tone starts out as a low "tire noise" type sound, increasing in pitch with speed, then, develops into a sound that sounds like you've suddenly put a MONSTER MUD GRIP tire on your car.
