Re: Quick Missfire

Not quite the same issue, but I have had similar issues with battery voltage/altenator not charging the battery properly. I replaced the battery last year and the altenator this year - only to have...

Re: I have a 3d printer... Who needs replacement parts?

Here's what I came up with. I made it out of ABS, seems like a pretty good material. I sanded and smoothed out the print lines, but they're still slightly visible. More post processing would be...

Hey everyone, sorry for the long hiatus! College has been keeping me plenty busy, but here and there I have time to work on fun stuff like this.
I have been missing the little bolt cap for the...

Re: I have a 3d printer... Who needs replacement parts?

Here's my first fix... My seat adjustment trim broke off from being pushed on by the seat in its lowest position, so I designed this and printed it. It's not much, but it accomplishes it's goal! I am...

Re: I have a 3d printer... Who needs replacement parts?

If you care to do research, I am using Cura as my slicer (Cura is a program that turns the object into layers that the printer prints), and I can read .3MF, .OBJ and .STL files.

My first SVX part...

Speed sensor fix or throw out?

I recently replaced my speed sensor that was acting up, and so I took the opportunity to cut open the old one and see if I could fix it or something. Upon opening I didn't notice anything obviously...

Still have not found it. I will be pulling off the covers one of these days to find and fix it for sure.

Re: Finding a good timing belt kit - help would be appreciated!

That's what I am planning to do, I'm just trying to figure out what to get and if I can get it all in one order.

Finding a good timing belt kit - help would be appreciated!

I'm back again, this time to ask you more knowledge members if you know any good timing belt kits or individual components that I can order. The best option I have found is a kit with GMB brand...

Re: Temp gauge reading low. Replace thermostat?

I am not sure how to test it, but at least others do. I do know that the heater wont blow hot and the temp gauge will be low if the thermostat is stuck open or opens easily. Its also a fairly easy...

Re: In need of a Throttle Position Sensor

Before buying anything else to fix it, I decided to cut open and clean the sensor. After spraying off the contacts with mass airflow sensor cleaner and bending out the contact arms slightly, I...

Re: In need of a Throttle Position Sensor

I actually contacted this seller before posting here. They are not available from them anymore, so that won't work. I am considering opening up mine and seeing if I can fix it with my dad's help, as...

Re: I have a mystery oil leak. Anyone have an idea what it is?

So I spent the other afternoon retightening everything. Leak is still there. Looks like I'll spend an afternoon reinstalling all the gaskets.

Re: I have a mystery oil leak. Anyone have an idea what it is?

I did have to use some silicone rubber to hold the gasket in place on the cover while I installed it, so I am familiar with that. As far as I can tell everything on the gaskets themselves are seal...

Re: I have a mystery oil leak. Anyone have an idea what it is?

I didn't use OEM gaskets, but the kit I used fit well and was the silicone rubber type. It did come with new bolt seals. From what you're saying, I definitely did tighten them down too much. I will...

I have a mystery oil leak. Anyone have an idea what it is?

I have had some problems finding a leak. Originally I replaced the valve cover gaskets and that fixed most of the leak, and then I replaced all the front seals (cam, crank, and cam caps), and I still...

Re: Radiator Cracked

If you're too cheap/can't afford one, the fix I found that has worked for 8+ months was to use JBWeld waterweld. Made for pools/hot tubs, but is actually rated higher temperature wise than JBWelds...

Re: Who Drives an SVX in the NW 2019 edition

I currently am daily driving my brilliant red '97 in Klamath falls, OR (small town 2hrs south of bend), and it's one of two in town. I've also spotted a white one on a drive up to bend in a small...

Re: Is A/C compressor servicable?

I don't know as much as the other members here, but the ac compressor does not have an expanded view in the service manual (unlike the PS pump) and therefore I would guess you can't get Subaru parts...
