So I went with the Powersteeringseals.com kit. Let's see how this goes!

Re: Warning-Power steering pump bracket FAILURE

I doubt very much that Subaru engineers had a discussion where they analyzed the lifespan of the bracket and after finding it to be ~30 years said "Oh crap, that's totally unacceptable. Let's quietly...

Steering rack rebuild kits

I've got my rack out and have been searching for reseal kits but am having trouble finding anything. If anyone has gone through this recently could you share what you used?

So far I've found the...

Re: Lsvx-t

What are the fittings you used for the steering rack? My lines are all corroded to hell and if I can replace them with -AN's that would be pretty sweet.

Re: Projector replacement?

I had the lenses in my headlights replaced. The housings are the original ones but the lenses had come loose and were crumbling at the edges. I need to fix the picture links but here's my thread on...

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Use copper-nickel for your new lines. Much easier to bend and flare than steel.

Put my Spec.B up for sale :(

We bought a truck and don't have room for all the cars. My new DD is a 2010 Pontiac G5 :tard:

Re: Modded headlights wiring

That's how my halos operate - I just re-routed the fog light wires to the CCFL transformers so whenever the car is running with the parking brake off the halos light up. They extinguish when the low...

Re: Crazy_Pilot's 6MT Swap (Lots-O-Pics!)

No, no DCCD for me yet. Shortly after finishing the swap I got into this real life thing (getting married, buying a house, career, etc) and the SVX has mostly been hibernating in the garage. I think...

Re: Subaru SVX EG-33 does it again !!!

Wow, glad you were able to get it all back together and back in the air. Got to love experimental - incidents like that are so much easier to fix than the certified world. My club had a 172 involved...

Re: Subaru SVX EG-33 does it again !!!

Epic! Any pictures/video/websites we can take a look at?

I'm hoping to start a Velocity XL some time in the next 5-7 years once my mortgage is cleared off, but am leaning more towards a...

Re: Land Speed Racing

It's been a while but I seem to recall that in the ECU decoding thread the guys actually found a limiter value, but it's something completely absurd and impossible (like hundreds of MPH). There's an...

Re: Lug nuts comparison

Stock SVX lugs or aftermarket? Stock will not work with the Mustang wheels. Our stock ones have a shank and washer design, whereas most wheels take a 60 degree taper.

Any aftermarket acorn...

Re: steering = none

That's got to be a frightening experience...

A total loss of steering connection has to be a mechanical failure at one of the connections.

-Steering wheel to steering column
-Steering column...

Re: She's a beast!

I can definitely agree on the gear whine! My Legacy's 6-speed also whines but much more quietly. There might be a combination of engine and trans mounts that will isolate the noise from the chassis...

Re: Headers / linkage

If you haven't dealth with this yet the solution I came up with was to grind the bolts off flush and drill and tap the flanges for new bolts. Sort of like a red-neck helicoil.

Re: 05-07 STI coilovers and use of the sway bar (brackets?)

Here's my thread on fitting WRX coilovers. STi are much easier, not so much grinding required.

I welded brackets onto the control arms...

Re: Direct bolt-on calipers

Try driving a manual transmission SVX; completely different animal. With the 4EAT engine revs are soaked up by the torque converter first, but with the 6-speed the SVX is more jumpy than my Legacy in...

Re: 17" or 18" wheels

Wheel sizing is pretty subjective. I've had 17" STi wheel on the SVX for almost 10 years (wow, has it really been that long?!), but now that I own another car with 18's and have friends with 19's I'm...

Re: Is 5w-40 oil alright to use?
