update - rear diff
Got the lsd from SVX into rear diff without grinding. Why replace the side plates with ones from SVX? everything seems to work with the ones that came with it? What is the potential problem?

TC size & input splines
Was talking to a transmission specialist, who told me that the SVX TC has 23 input splines and the Outback has 22; and the SVX is larger. So, it seems that SVX TC is the only option without replacing...

Just confirmed. No external filter and has brake band :D :D :D
My mechanic recommends getting reman SVX torque converter. Think I can find one for $300

4.44 tranny project
I think I've got an early 1998 Outback tranny. Searched part lists and come up with two trans codes for '98 & '99 on parts list: mine TZ102Z2DBA - KF and TZ1AZJEBA. Sometimes mine comes up as 1999...

4.44 rear differential
I'm at doing a 4.44 swap and I've located a '97 Legacy Outback tranny and a 2000 Impreza 2.5RS w/LSD rear. Does anyone know if the rear passenger axle will fit the 2.5 LSD?
