The color code for the three-tone is 215. The lower is 250 (Grey M) and the middle is 249 (Space Silver).

Not sure exactly when the 17 digit VIN plates were introduced for used imports but it was around 1992 so it is possible it may have been imported before the new VIN plates were required?

It sounds like it may have been imported to NZ after 2000 which means it would not meet the required frontal impact standards and therefore could not be registered.
