Perhaps you have a collapsed lifter. Hard to diag without vehicle present. Try to add seafoam to engine oil, following directions. If noise goes away, great. If noise remains, it should be...

When the transmission assembly is swapped from a legacy with 4.444 gears into a svx with 3.54 gears, is the speedometer accurate, and if so what component swap makes it so.
