Re: 5MT in Colorado Springs Pull and Pay

I'm pretty sure the original 3.54 gearing has 11 teeth on the pinion and 39 on the ring, the 4.11 final drive has 9 teeth on the pinion and 37 on the ring, and the 4.44 final drive has 9 teeth on the...

Re: 5MT in Colorado Springs Pull and Pay

I'm up in Fort Collins these days, but I'm from Colorado Springs so I go down there every now and then. I know it's lame, but I don't think I ever want to leave Colorado. It just rocks too much (no...

Re: 5MT in Colorado Springs Pull and Pay

Yup, it was a Pearlie. It looked like someone put a lot of work into it and it didn't seem to have been in an accident so I'm not sure why it was there. I can try and get the VIN next time I'm down...

5MT in Colorado Springs Pull and Pay

I am sadly getting rid of my svx now, but while I was looking around getting all the remaining odds and ends I needed to get it ready for sale I came across a pearlie at the Colorado Springs...

Re: Vibration from driveshaft

So the problem has finally been resolved! I brought the car to a transmission shop and they found that the pinion shaft in the rear differential was slightly bent. I'm not sure how the previous 3...

Re: Vibration from driveshaft

So I replaced the rear end of my transmission with the rear end of another stage 1 4EAT. I replaced the clutch basket (the whole assembly shaft that it's attached to), the clutch pack, and the rear...

Re: Vibration from driveshaft

That would probably be a good call. I'm a little new to tearing into the transmission like this so I'm learning as I'm going. I've just replaced the transmission so far.

I pulled on the splined...

Re: Vibration from driveshaft

So the rear diff is geared correctly, but I did find this:
This is where the transfer clutch attaches at the rear of the transmission (crappy cell phone pic)

Re: Vibration from driveshaft

Yeah, I remember checking the teeth on the ring gear and dividing it by the teeth on the pinion and it was 4.44. I could double check because I did save the ring gear from my 4.11 and original 3.54....

Re: Vibration from driveshaft

I replaced my drive shaft and that didn't fix the problem so i'm going to replace the center differential now...

Does anyone know if the center differential is the same in the 4.44's and 4.11's...

Re: Vibration from driveshaft

So, I got a resistor but there is still 16 flashes of the power light upon startup. When i pull the code it still says 11. I checked the resistance of the resistor and I get 0.9 ohms. I am getting...

Re: Vibration from driveshaft

Yeah, I'll give that a try. Where is a good place to get them? If I remember correctly it's a 12 ohm resistor with the ability to dissipate 100W of power?

Re: Vibration from driveshaft

Just kidding. There's definitely still a problem.

I moved for the summer to a place with no garage, so I decided to bring the svx into a mechanic. He said that the drive shaft is bent and the the...

Re: Vibration from driveshaft

My power light does flash, but it pulls the code for the dropping resistor. I haven't gotten around to getting one yet... Oh, and thanks for the cylinder heads a while back. That was awesome

Re: Vibration from driveshaft

So, I took off the rear transmission cross member and checked things out. I didn't find anything unusual, so I put it back together. I was going to bring it in to a shop (my very, very last resort),...

Re: Vibration from driveshaft

Congratulations on your 4.44, definitely a lot of fun:D

Maybe it's the delay that is the problem. That would make more sense. Does anyone know if an svx on 4 jack stands is supposed to start with...

Re: Vibration from driveshaft

There doesn't seem to be any rust in the center attachment point. I'll have to check where the driveshaft is deflecting the most tomorrow. Thanks for the recommendations :)

Re: Vibration from driveshaft

So I checked the rear cross member mounts and found that the 'rubber stopper' was a little worn. Also the rear differential bushings are shot, but they always kinda were... This drive shaft vibration...

Re: Vibration from driveshaft

I'll put up a video when I get a chance... it's finals week=). It's splined on the tranny, carrier bearing is bolted in, and the 4 bolts are attaching the shaft to the rear diff... It shouldn't move,...
