Re: Driveshaft noise

It is possible that the worn center support bearing has been putting stress on the ujoints and they're failing. The sound from them may be coming through the hollow shaft, like a cone acts like a...

Thumbs up Today only. Alpine that fits.

woot.com has the Alpine iXA-W404 for $205 shipped.
I'm pretty sure this fits the SVX. It's digital only and Alpine is good stuff. Or, at least they used to be back in the day...

If you aren't...

Re: My break-up with Subaru

Excellent choice Tom. It's stunning.
The E39 M5 is easily the best of the M5 family. Sure the newer E60 has two more cylinders but it's less of a car.

You also hit on a good point, ///M parts...

Exclamation Re: Want to be able to drive the SVX in Forza 3? Vote here

Voted!

The SE-R lost yesterday. I'd hate to see the SVX meet the same fate.

Re: Rear Ended: SVX sandwiched

It goes up to auction tomorrow, 11/25/09. The body shop told me you have to register on IAAI's site to bid but that's $200/year. I didn't see a one-time price.
If you/anyone esle buys it let me know.

Re: HID kits on the cheap.

On some non-SVX (i.e. my Tribeca) housings the extension wires are required to get the power out of the headlight assy and to the ballast.
On the SVX and my M3 I just cut the extra wires off. I...

Re: HID kits on the cheap.

Is this straightened out yet? I haven't been on here for a while but did ask them to take care of it since I fear it will be a reflection on me.
Why are you out $120? I'm not asking that to be a...

Re: HID kits on the cheap.

Someone else said that when they ordered they told them not to pay for 2-day since more ballasts wouldn't be in for another week. Just call them up.

Yes, that's the fix. Just unplug the...

Re: I promise this is my last stupid question of the night.

before you paint it try hitting it with some 000 steel wool. Remove it from the car if you can, or put something down to catch the crap.
If the steel wool doesn't make it a nice red again, you've at...

Re: HID kits on the cheap.

I'm putting them in my M3's fogs... but I'm not sure how to best do that.

Did you order H1's or did they accidentally ship you H1s?

Re: HID kits on the cheap.

no, I just meant that the fogs might be too small for the amount of heat. Physically the 35w and 55w are the same size.

I like yellow for true fog lights, I ordered a set of 3k for mine but...

Re: HID kits on the cheap.

I think the fogs are probably a little too small for 55w but the 35w should be fine.

Re: HID kits on the cheap.

9006 is the correct bulb for the low beams but if you really did want the 9005 just call them and they'll fix it. Don't PM or email them, they don't check those very often.

I ordered a fourth set for our Tribeca. I've been putting off buying HIDs for the 'Beca because...
