Re: Want to trade for/buy SVX

Sorry this took so long, I've had no end of trouble getting to the shop, taking photos and getting them off the cameras memory card.

Pictures 2-4 are specifically to highlight imperfections (door...

Re: Want to trade for/buy SVX

I'll see if I can get some in the morning, it's supposed to be rainy though so it may be a couple days.

Re: Want to trade for/buy SVX

I have a '94 SVX that I need to part with as I am on disability and have no need for a vehicle any more, plus my storage location is going to be no longer available soon.

The colours are deep...

Re: '94 SVX eats batteries

Thanks, I'll be having a look at that when I get back on my feet (down with the flu today). LOL'ed at the video, michael :)

Re: Whoever stole my parts please return them

Wait...you had the car at this "Nate" person's shop and he isn't taking responsibility for it?

Nah, paint the whole car fly yellow, powder the rims black, and tint the windows black.

'94 SVX eats batteries

Hi,

I've not been around in a while, so I am a bit out of touch, but I've encountered some issues that nobody else can seem to resolve for me.

Back in 2008 I bought a '94 SVX (LSI I believe),...

Re: Locking brake problem

It's definitely a heat related problem, I just picked it up from where I left it last night and there is no problem. If I were to get custom oversized ceramic brakes and rotors in the front, this...

Locking brake problem

I have this recurring problem with my 94 LSI, where the right front brake is locking up completely. I've had a mechanic look at it and he can never make it happen, he has checked ABS and replaced the...

Re: Dual exhaust overkill?

Thanks, what do you mean by "nice sounding"?

Quiet at low revs, and "What was that?!?!?" at full throttle?

I don't know what jokethis89's performs like, or even sounds like, he hasn't posted a...

Re: Dual exhaust overkill?

It's not like I am asking whether to go 2:1 or not, I never asked that. I am only asking whether I absolutely need mufflers, resonators *and* pre-cats on each pipe. I only ever had a cat and muffler...

Re: Dual exhaust overkill?

I'm not proposing anything over 3" on a 2:1, just a continuation of each 2" through to its own separate outlet. I know enough to figure that two 2" into one would need something more like 2.8, which...

Re: Dual exhaust overkill?

2 into 1 is going to be a bottleneck when I increase the air intake later.

Talking Re: Dual exhaust overkill?

I need to replace the exhaust anyway, and I want to open it up to take as much air out of the cylinders as I will be ramming into them when I upgrade the intake (when I can afford some kind of TC/SC...

Dual exhaust overkill?

I've been reading the forum a bit and came up with this as a basic plan for what I want to do, as I would rather rebuild the whole exhaust now than fix the bits that need it and have to rebuild...

Re: judgement upon my SVX (long post):

This (OP) reminds me of the first time I glued my SVX to the back of another vehicle on the long mountain road from the nearest town back to my home in a small village where I took an IT job.

I...

Re: True Dual Exhaust

ok I have absolutely no idea about this sort of stuff, but do I get this right: You have two glasspack mufflers in-line with two standard mufflers, and no cats? Or what?

I'm not sure I could pull...

Re: World's fastest bone stock engined SVX for sale

Dang, I miss all the good stuff.

This would have made my SVX into a parts car :p

Not a lot of racing way up here, but there are a lot of cars that need smokin' on these twisty mountain roads...

Re: How can I PROVE my SVX has ABS?

Sounds like time to change providers, even if they can provide justification for denying insurance for an SVX. You can bet they would insure any Z car, BMW, Volvo, or what have you around. Ask them...

Re: Remote entry?

Mine didn't, I had an aftermarket alarm/keyless entry/remote starter/stereo installed immediately (the factory CD didn't work and the 15 year old speakers were not acceptable by modern standards).

Put the agent in the passenger seat, drive fast, slam on the brakes.

Re: Just got new wheels

I picked up some Hankook ice tyres last year for my SVX and even though they are almost as massive as my summer set, they handle the winter up here (northern BC, Canada, up in the mountains)...

Re: SVX + NSX = wow!

There's an idea. I wish I had the time do do a complete CADD model of my SVX (and owned an NSX to do likewise) and then combine them into a wholly new model.

And then, what the hell, pull a...

Re: Towing

Sometimes you just do what you have to do.

But it's only as a last resort, as I wouldn't tow it behind a moving van or fly/train/bus it back and make a second trip unless I had to.
