Re: ABS Issues post manual install

A GD Impreza pedal assembly and booster work great. Get the booster vacuum line from the Impreza also, it has a hard 90⁰ to face in the correct direction.

Re: ABS Issues post manual install

Normally when swapping the pedal assembly, you also swap the brake booster to match the pedal assembly.

Re: Warning-Power steering pump bracket FAILURE

I have never seen one cracked or damaged unless hit during an accident. I do see the long adjuster bolt broken either from corrosion or improper use. It is quite a thick cast aluminum part and I...

Re: Dash lights on, no power steering

Sounds kind of like a belt issue. Pop the hood and make sure the belt is on and tight and also check to see if the idler is seized. The Christmas tree lights on the dash is indicative usually of an...

Re: 1994 Subaru SVX - Starting problem

To me it almost sounds like a coolant temp sensor issue. When the engine is still completely hot it is fine, and when it is cold it is fine, but if there is a dead spot in the middle temp range the...

Re: Help with plug / connector ID

As you can see in this picture the wires from the connector pass through into the wheel well. These connect to the ABS sensor on the knuckle.

Re: Help with plug / connector ID

That's the connector for the ABS sensor for the front left wheel. One of those wires should pass through into the wheel well. There should be one in an identical location on the right side of the...

Re: Retro-fitting a CAN bus to a pre-OBD2 SVX?

Any of the major names make good ECUs, Halltech, ECUmasters, Motune, etc. Most of the new ones have electronics that will display anything and everything you could ever want. You would not have to...

Re: Retro-fitting a CAN bus to a pre-OBD2 SVX?

Why not swap to a stand alone ECU with all the modern digital outputs? This would also allow for full tuning of the ECU.

Re: ECUTune Stage III twin screw supercharger sign up

We are both running Hydra, but I would highly recommend against it and going with a more modern stand alone ECU.

Re: Seat rails from Japan

Planted makes seat brackets for the SVX here in the US. Then you can use sliders or mounting brackets to match whatever aftermarket seats you are using.

It is definitely interesting that Recaro...

Re: ECUTune Stage III twin screw supercharger sign up

With my current 5" crank pulley and 2.25" supercharger pulley at 7,000 RPM the supercharger is spinning roughly 16,000 RPM. I'm just over the max edge as it is and looking at the efficiency graph I'm...

Re: ECUTune Stage III twin screw supercharger sign up

I'm already over revving the supercharger at the 7k RPM redline. The only thing a larger crank pulley will do is add more heat and blowup the supercharger.

I know 05-07 definitely, but probably 05-current, I just haven't checked part numbers for the newer ones.

Re: Damn wheel bearings!!!!

Do you use a press, or a hub shark tool when you do the bearings? The appropriate method that Subaru has changed to is the hub shark tool. It allows the bearing to be done with the knuckle in the...

Re: Intake sub gear

In the long run I could picture possible camshaft gear damage. I could also picture damage and accelerated wear to the camshaft "bearing" journal surfaces.

Re: 3.7 / 3.54 rear diff

The front diff of all 6MT transmissions is a 3.9 ratio. The older ones use a 1:1 center ratio requiring a 3.9 rear diff. The newer ones use a 1.1:1 center ratio requiring a 3.54 rear diff.

The...

Re: Crazy_Pilot's 6MT Swap (Lots-O-Pics!)

I ended up getting a MapDCCD unit because I couldn't find anywhere to physically fit the DCCDPro unit that I had into the car. I used a method I saw from another member and hard mounted the MapDCCD...

Re: I am ready to blow this car up. Won't start now.

The interlock switch on the shifter unit that gets depressed when in park is for the key release in the steering column. You cannot switch the key all the way to lock and remove it in any gear other...

Re: ECUTune Stage III twin screw supercharger sign up

I'm limited to around 11psi while over revving the supercharger before redline. On a high compression motor this may be fine, but I have a forged lower compression motor. I could get much more out of...

Re: ECUTune Stage III twin screw supercharger sign up

Time to learn how to fabricate. I have one of the kits and I have had to rework most of it to get it setup well. Looking back on it, a large single turbo on my built motor would have gotten me a lot...
