Re: 11:1 Engine Rebuild

Yeh I had the similar idea for contrast in mind too, if you want to keep the contrast look but want it clean you could check out the alumiblast paint to make the alternator look new. Either way I...

Re: Totaled

Wow! I know that's already been said but it is amazing you were able to walk away from that. I am suprised at the extent of the damage! Best wishes for all involved.

Re: Engine pics

Thanks guys, the thing is I know every flaw well enough that I can still see them. Not that there are alot of bad flaws just things I wished I had the time and $$ to still address. Oh I also went...

Re: Engine pics

Thanks guys, actually the block itself I did scrubb it down pretty good. The heads were pretty clean but I cleaned them up and painted the valve covers black with engine block paint. Gives it a nice...

Re: One problem with buying an older used car

you say you haven't floored it really so just curious have you had your power mode light up on your dash yet? If not then that should surely be the pick up that you may be looking for from the car...

Re: Continued disregard of rules, Permaban in place.

I think the best example why was in the cooling thread. Sure after it was finished you could scroll passed the arguing but while it was happening it was painful. I know if it was me trying doing all...

Thumbs up Re: SVX 94 photos (my design...my job)

I am really impressed! I like it though it isn't specific to my tastes I would definitely have no problem driving it around and it is just well done and executed. Very unique and I like the fact that...

Re: Continued disregard of rules, Permaban in place.

I have a couple of threads or responses and back and forths with Trevor but other than some temporary exasperation over the immediate disagreements I did find him to be very smart and knowledgeable. ...

Re: Removing ABS

I think I get what you are trying to do but not sure why. Even older cars without ABS had proportional valves to make sure you had the proper brake fluid line pressure going to the fronts vs the rear...

Re: Erratic Idle Issue Solved!

Usually depends on how old they are and if they have any kind of compression left. Sometimes if you use a gasket sealant when reinstalling or using old gaskets you can get by for a while but common...

Re: Erratic Idle Issue Solved!

Cool glad you got it fixed but to bad you had to take it to the shop hopefully the maintenance didn't cost too much.

I had figured it would be something to do with the removal of the intake.

Re: Fuel Filter

easiest way to get hoses off that are stuck on is get them to twist first. Once they rotate it makes them easier to move. Some WD40 can help as well. Some stubborn hoses just need to break free of...

Re: Reasons for Bad MPG

You seem to have been through the exhaust side, don't forget to check the intake side if you are sucking air where you aren't supposed to be i.e. gaskets and hoses then it could be a problem.
Check...

Re: Another Guess That Noise Question...

Depends on your ramps and you can always chock block your front tires while it is on ramps so it doesn't roll forward if that is the concern. However should be fine but it truly is your head etc....

Re: 92 Wrecked SVX vs 96 Wrecked SVX

Yeh I thought it was without engine as well. With a known running engine car would be potentially worth atleast what they sell EG33 on ebay for.

I was just concerned about trans removal cost etc....
