Third Brake Light

Hi folks. I need the third brake light LED strip for our '92. Idiots won't let it pass inspection. Anyone got one cheap? Thanks.

Best parts place?

Hey guys. What's the best place online to find replacement parts? We're currently looking for shocks and springs.

Re: Engine cutting off

Man, you may be right. Now that you mention that, I think we had the same thing when the MAF went bad last time, like 5 years ago. Thanks.

Engine cutting off

First off, thanks for all you folks help. I have another question. Occasionally, while driving, the engine will sputter just a little, and sometimes it will cut off all together. Starts right back...

Re: Tire wear (transfer case?)

Well the rear alignment was about as far off as one could imagine, so I'm pretty sure that's gonna take care of the problem. Guess we'll find out in about another 10K! Thanks for the chat.

Re: Tire wear (transfer case?)

Well, I suspected that they were full of it when I found out that they don't do alignments. A tire dealer that doesn't do alignments? This is a MAJOR nationwide dealership too. I just didn't get why...

Re: Tire wear (transfer case?)

Well, at this point they're some crappy Kumo's. I think it's an alignment issue, just wanted to see what others thought. The whole transfer case thing just doesn't make sense to me.

Seat belt motor

The shoulder strap motor has stopped working on our '92. Is there a fuse, or do I assume it's the motor itself? Thanks.

Transmission care

Ok, we've got a '92 with 190K on it, and would like to make sure it keeps running. Can you folks tell me the best way to make the tranny last? Should we replace the fluid, or leave it alone? Any...

Tire wear (transfer case?)

Our SVX seems to wear tires out very quickly (maybe 10K miles). This time it seems like the rears are way more worn than the front. The tire place is telling us it could be a transfer case issue....

Re: Rear bearing

Also, have you ever changed this? Is it do-able without special tools? I've done it on other cars without much problem, but this assy looks a little more detailed than I'm used to.

Rear bearing

Are there two separate bearings for the rear wheels? I'm looking for the parts online and I see two that are completely different looking.

Re: rear wheel wobbly

It could be the bearing, I guess. Definitely not a bent rim. It's not like it's bent, it's like it's falling off! How hard are the bearings to replace?

rear wheel wobbly

My right rear wheel is wobbling bad enough so that you can see it in the rear view mirror. Feels like it is ready to fall off.
I removed both rims yesterday, but can't really see, or feel, anything...

I see people talking about cleaning their MAF sensor. Is this possible? If so, how?

Unhappy Engine shutting off

'92 shuts off while driving. No hesitation or noise, lights, radio, etc stay on. Wouldn't even know it wasn't running except for losing power steering. After it shuts off, you can start it right back...

Actually, I was asking if any other Subaru models used the sensor.

I sure don't know how to check one, but if you figure out that it's good, I'll sure buy it from you! $170 new is ridiculous.
