Re: Upgraded Brakes

They do feel much better. I would say the SS lines contributed to the better brake feel, whilst the 'bite' & seemingly better braking performance is a direct result of the new pads & new rotors.

Re: Upgraded Brakes

Well, the brake upgrade was completed last Wednesday & after 700km I can report that all is as expected.

The initial firmer bite & pedal feel is soooo much better. Hard braking from open road...

Re: Upgraded Brakes

In looking at upgrading my brakes I was informed today that I should check to see if any aftermarket SS Braided lines are approved/certified by the NZ (NZT?). If not, they will not get through a WOF....

Re: Upgraded Brakes

Having said all that, from what I can tell, all the rotor replacement options are for the same size rotors which just happen to be slotted to minimise fade (I want to retain the same size wheels).

Re: Upgraded Brakes

Thanks for that clarification.

I agree on the weight saving measures & a good manual transmission, however for me, I do 60% city driving & 40% open road driving, so the auto suits my needs well....

Re: Upgraded Brakes

Thanks for subjectively quantifying the improvement that SS braided lines make + the advice on the DOT 3/4 brake fluid, the latter being consistent with advice from after-market brake suppliers.

Re: Upgraded Brakes

Excuse my ignorance, but what is 5mt?

I will let others (svxfiles) answer the pedal feel question, which I am just as curious about.

Re: Rear Sway Bar - Group Buy

I may be interested, but just need to do some more research to confirm the final outcome & also to see if the noisy links issue has been resolved.

Re: Fuel Economy

7.8-8.0 l/100 km is excellent, esp. for a 1600 kg car with 4WD, a 4 speed auto & whose aerodynamic & mechanical designs go back 20 years.

I doubt I could do much better over the same distance as...

Fuel Economy

I have just this week completed a 1363 km round trip and achieved 8.9 litres/100 km driving at just over 100 km/hr (2050 rpm) & using cruise control 95% of the time. This is the best fuel economy I...

Re: Revs of SVX at 100km?

As per other post, 100 km ph is 62 mph. For my SVX, it doesn't matter if I use cruise or not, the revs settle at a constant 2050rpm at 100km/hr.

Re: Revs of SVX at 100km?
