Re: FS: one gold JDM SVX hood emblem

Hey Bill,

I was wondering if anyone would notice my post. Good to hear from you. I've been in the Evo world since 2006 and am a pretty active member on evolutionm.net. I've learned a lot about...

FS: one gold JDM SVX hood emblem

I was going through the garage a few days ago and came across a brand new gold JDM SVX hood ornament that must have gotten lost in the shuffle of moving to my new home several years ago. See my...

Re: STeeL's built motor/turbo build

Strongly agree with that statement. Don't think that people realize that while the MS is a good price, the effort required to adapt it is much higher.

Re: STeeL's built motor/turbo build

ok, maybe not as bad as I though. If you go SD, then I imagine you'd use a GM 3 bar and a GM IAT sensor for SD duties, and those calibrations are readily available. You've got cam and crank figured...

Re: STeeL's built motor/turbo build

Thought you might try to use all the OEM sensors, but sounds like you'd just go with all the aftermarket sensors that people typically use with the MS.

Re: STeeL's built motor/turbo build

I imagine that adapting a Megasquirt would be a fair bit of work because you'd have to figure out the sensor calibrations. I imagine you'd set it up as speed density (is there even a MAF option with...

Re: STeeL's built motor/turbo build

ok, I guess the lack of tuning skill does make sense for the SVX community. Great that you don't lock your maps. Do you have the MegaSquirt adapted to the SVX and have a set of base maps for it?

Re: STeeL's built motor/turbo build

I thought the Hydra included software to allow you to tune it yourself like an AEM EMS.

Are you getting a Hydra Nemesis for engine control?

Re: new coilover opportunity (March, 2010)

Its not quite a fair comparison to look at how a stock Evo damper is going to handle a spring that is 35% stiffer than stock especially because the stock Evo KYB strut is not such a great strut.

Re: new coilover opportunity (March, 2010)

The front spring rates are most comparable between the SVX and Evo because both have a MacPherson strut design. Stock Evo is about 200 lbs/in (measured it myself), while the GTWORX springs are 290...

Re: new coilover opportunity (March, 2010)

Yeah, I thought about posting in the General forum but didn't want to potentially annoy anyone with the appearance of crossposting. I think I'll post a link in that forum to this thread. AMR said...

Re: new coilover opportunity (March, 2010)

Good to see many of the usual suspects are still here and active. I stopped doing springs quite a while ago. No time and too much difficulty with getting the supplier to come through with product...

Re: new coilover opportunity (March, 2010)

I'm sure that money will be required up front. The coilovers are fully rebuildable. The majority of the extra expense in creating a new coilover is in the upfront design work. After that,...

Re: Hydra Nemesis

I totally understand the value even with an NA motor, and if I still had my SVX, I'm sure I'd have a Nemesis by now. Its just an economics thing for most people.

Their website is:

http://www.amrengineering.com/

There aren't too many details on the website, but as I mentioned before:

- Single adjustable damping (rebound)
- Preload adjustable
- Ride...

Re: new coilover opportunity (March, 2010)

Got some excellent news from AMR. The owner said he would do five sets of coilovers for ~$1895 shipped. (Or one set for ~$2600.) Definitely the best and only deal you guys are ever likely to see...

Re: Hydra Nemesis

I feel for your perspective, but I can't really fault SVX owners for being cheap. One of the attractions of the SVX has been an interesting car for not much money. And realistically, since there...

Re: Hydra Nemesis

Fantastic to see a standalone reflashable ECU for the SVX. The icing on the cake is that the price is very reasonable. One word of caution for you folks though - I hope the Nemesis as some sort of...

new coilover opportunity (March, 2010)

Hey Guys,

I'm spending most of my bench racing time on an Evo forum these days, but I am always keeping my eye out for mods/parts for the SVX. A fellow Evo owner here in the Tri-Cities recently...

Is there a copy of a stock ROM file around somewhere, preferably a USDM one?

Re: Memory dump of ECU

I've been using EvoScan with my Evo for about 1.5 years. I had been watching to see when he would add support for the SVX. Since EvoScan simply follows the SSM protocol, I doubt Hamish (EvoScan...

I can always help you out with spec'ing out the parts.

Just saw your email about the Seafood fest. Planning to talk with Wassana about it this evening. :-)
