Re: 11:1 CR Race/Street Engine build
I noted that Vinny Ten does Hydra tuning. One of my track buddies has an Infiniti coupe with a Vinny Ten-built twin turbo engine. He can really make engines sit up on their hind legs and bark. I...

Re: 11:1 CR Race/Street Engine build
The main reference signal is an MAP sensor. I will have to ask YT to weigh in on how the timing is adjusted at start-up. Need to replace the starter first, however.

Re: 11:1 CR Race/Street Engine build
Hydra. Tom leaned it out a little bit, in my quest to pass emissions. I'm easily passing at 2500, but failed on idle, probably because I had to leave it at the shop and he probably let it sit for a...

Re: 11:1 CR Race/Street Engine build
Actually, the starter seems to turn it over pretty quickly. With this high lift longer duration camshaft and other mods, it just doesn't like to start. Even after I get it going, I have to give it a...

Re: 11:1 CR Race/Street Engine build
Starter broke again. Engine doesn't really like to start. Have to coax it. All packed up and ready to go to pocono for the weekend. Tried to start it; hadn't run it for a week or so. Nothing for 2...

If you're talking about the oil filter, there is no adaptor. It fits. Just much greater volume than stock oil filter. Part number is in my post. As for the oil cooler, YT will have to...

Re: 11:1 CR Race/Street Engine build
Credit the oil filter change to Old Tom. He clued me into it when I was at his place getting my fiberglass hood. They are not as common as they used to be. I ordered about a dozen of them from...

Re: 11:1 CR Race/Street Engine build
The engine has definitely been unexpectedly expensive for both Tom and myself. Lots and lots of little things add up to big numbers. Unexpected difficulties, such as unavailable shims, sheared cam...

Yes, but there was about 1200 miles of street and highway driving and about 100 miles of track driving between the 2 incidents.
Tom was driving the car home from the dyno shop, after tuning,...

If you kept the oil filter, we should cut it open. That should reveal exactly what kind of debris did the damage to the pump.
It pains me to think that all the time I was enjoying that...

Re: 11:1 CR Race/Street Engine build
Don't think this failure can be attributed to sustained high rpm running. It failed toward the end of its third 30 minute track session of its first track day. The first session was really slow as...

Re: 11:1 CR Race/Street Engine build
Personal endorsement. The EG33 with LAN's pistons, the Hydra Nemesis stand-alone and the Web Cams is dynamite. A lot of engine work to get the Web cams, because all of the valves must be changed...

Don't know that the mismatch is a bad thing. It gives me a really wide torque curve at the expense of what might be a slight increase in peak HP. It is really sweet to get such a powerful...

Re: 11:1 CR Race/Street Engine build

Power Slot used to have a rotor that wasn't cryo treated for about $110 for fronts, but I checked their web site and they don't list it. You might contact them.
