Re: Pinout for fuel pump connector?

OK, I went out and did a bit more checking. I looked for voltage and resistance on each pin relative to ground, both with key on and in ignition / run position. Findings are below. All of them...

Question Pinout for fuel pump connector?

My SVX (92, 123k miles) has been sitting pretty much since November, since it was getting too cold to work on it outside. At the time, it was running fine. I went to move it yesterday, and it...

Re: Bump stop replacement

Thanks for the input - this is where I'm leaning as well. Yeah I know it's not exactly crucial, but I'd like to have them there to help the struts out, especially given the fact that I think the...

Bump stop replacement

So, over the course of working on my car, I've noticed that the rear bump stops (on the OEM struts) are completely gone. I'd like to replace them, but the OEM parts are NLA from Subaru. Ideally,...

Re: Fuel tank "Jet" pump?

Ah, I was thinking you were referring to another electric / mechanical pump assembly, not just the vacuum device that pulls from the other side. Hadn't heard that part called the "jet pump" before,...

Re: Fuel tank "Jet" pump?

There's not a secondary pump - there is another tube assembly with a smaller sock on it and a separate fuel level sending unit that goes into the other side. It's connected to the main pump assembly...

Re: Painting center caps?

Thank you for locating the post! Unfortunately I don't think this will work for me, since the '94 wheels are a lighter shade than the ones on my '92.

I borrowed a small handheld color scanner...

Replacing fuel lines on top of tank

Hi everyone, while sorting out my non-working fuel gauge problem (it works now :) ), I encountered something else. Crusty, weeping hardlines on top of the fuel tank. :( The bad spot (on all 3 lines)...

Re: Painting center caps?

That's a great idea, I will probably attempt that next time. I can get plastic droppers from work, but those might be too big. I may try to find some proper metal needles on Amazon.

I kinda...

Re: Painting center caps?

For reference, here's a stock cap from my '94 parts car in place on the '92 wheel. Way too light, so this won't work either. The white stuff on the wheel is dried tire paste - I have to wipe that...

Re: Painting center caps?

OK, so I finally got around to this yesterday. For anyone considering painting these caps to match wheels, DO NOT use this paint. Despite the cap matching the wheels, it came out way too dark, even...

Re: Painting center caps?

I don't think a custom can will be necessary...I went to Autozone with a cap in hand, and tried to match it with something they had on the shelf. Although I don't want to get too much Chrysler in my...

Re: Transmission computer question

I'd assume so, but to confirm you could look up the part numbers for both on one of the online Subaru parts sites and confirm that they match?

Re: ABS sensor diagnostic - Output voltage too high?

Thanks Trevor, this is great information. The only multimeter I have here is a Harbor Freight special with a terrible refresh rate, but I will put it on there anyway and see what happens. I was not...

Question ABS sensor diagnostic - Output voltage too high?

Hi all, I'm trying to tackle an ABS fault on my 92. When I started fixing the car up, I found that the ABS relay had been removed, so I replaced it with the one from my parts car. After I did that,...

Re: Stereo Question

OEM head unit, or aftermarket? Do you have another head unit laying around you could use to test with? If nothing else, you could check wiring continuity with a 9v battery: ...

Re: Painting center caps?

Ancient thread I know, but still relevant :)

I need to repaint the wheel caps for my (dark silver) 92 wheels, and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for paint (available in 2021) that...

Re: Diff gasket? NLA?

Thanks, good to know. Haven't had to open up too many diffs in my day, and both times I did, I had a gasket to stick em back together with so I never had to think too hard about it.

I at least...

Re: Diff gasket? NLA?

I may end up doing that at least as a starting point, but I kind of wanted to check out the condition of the gears as well - make sure they're not chewed up, the limited slip unit is in place /...

Re: Climate control / HVAC dead, stuck on full defrost

Thanks  although I'm now wondering what exactly caused it to kill itself. Old age? I didn't inspect the electronics too closely, although I did open it up in order to swap faceplates (since...

Re: Different kind of sunroof problem

It's not a difficult job. The biggest problem I encountered was the 30 year old plastic trim clipped into the pillars. My front pieces came out mostly OK, but most of the clips sheared off of the...

Diff gasket? NLA?

So the '92 I'm fixing up had a Level 10 4.44 transmission swapped in back in 2005 (which I actually do have the paperwork for), and it seems like it is working well. According to the logged mileage,...

Re: Climate control / HVAC dead, stuck on full defrost

So I got into the parts car over the weekend to pull the sunroof assembly so I can fix my sunroof problem once and for all, and decided to pull the HVAC controller while I was in there to see if...

Re: Different kind of sunroof problem

Well, just for closure, this is now resolved. Ended up dropping the interior trim, dropping the headliner, and swapping the entire busted mechanism with the working one from my parts car (also...
