Re: using atf in gas to clean engine

Somehow I think the only thing that would be cleaned out is your bank account, since new catalytic converters are a bit on the expensive side. :p

Re: help!!!! No start!

Put engine to TDC, pull the timing covers on BOTH sides and verify that you are still in time with the crankshaft. It didnt start with starting fluid which means you have no spark or improperly timed...

Re: Fuel Not Burning

A higher octane rating means the AF mixture burns more SLOWLY, which allows more timing advance and more power, as the burning mixture is acting on the piston for a slightly longer duration.

Re: Low idle, misfires at low rpm

It shouldnt be the EGR. Have you tried Seafoaming your system? And what about vacuum leaks, have you checked for them?

Re: Low idle, misfires at low rpm

I would pull all 6 plugs and see if one of them is not like the others. Your problem could be a lot of things, but seeing if its a miss on any one cylinder could help save you some time and money.

Re: Extreme power loss, random stuttering.

What you should do now is just get to the fuel pump, and test for voltage there. Im not sure which is positive or negative on the harness, but basically you just need to see whether or not any of the...

You might first look under the driver kick panel and make sure the test ground isnt hooked into the test plug. Otherwise yeah flashing all the time while running is a misfire.

Re: Check Engine Light (but not all the time)

In my experience that particular CEL behavior is associated with a bad O2 sensor. If your car is a 92-95 you can easily check the code yourself, see the How-To... it takes about 60 seconds.
