the previous owner told me that all the eletrical problems showed up when he was putting in the alt, not when he bought it. so i guess i could call them but i dont think they would be of much help

well after six different places told me that my alt was fine and that i had a wiring problem it turns out that the alt was in fact bad. i put a reman one from Subaru in and everything is all good now...
