Re: Heater Fan won't work

That's the confusing part, for sure. I'm talking about trying to control the heater/AC fan and having the radiator fans (both is them) kick in when the heater/AC fan is set to defrost (and now when...

Re: Heater Fan won't work

Yup - I checked fuses 15, 20 and 21. They all looked good. I also swapped out the 5 radiator fan relays under the hood with known good ones with no difference in result.

Re: Heater Fan won't work

But when you turn the key to "accessory" and hit the "defrost" control, the radiator fan doesn't kick in on my other 3 SVXs - just the heater/AC fan kicks in. But in the problem SVX, the heater/ac...

%*^^%(# drivers

My son was stopped at a red light tonight driving our ’92 5-speed SVX. He was the third car from the intersection. The first car stalled, the second car driver got frustrated and threw her car in...

Re: Another Guess That Noise Question...

Check the brake calipers. Does the sound go away when you apply the brakes?

Re: Is my mechanic telling me the truth?

One of my SVXs is running with a 1997 or 1998 (I think) Legacy MAF sensor out of an auto wrecker yard. Cost? No charge. The parts look identical and I can't tell any difference in the way it runs....

Re: Power Steering fix - Why did this work?

If belt dressing is the same stuff, then I probably shouldn't have used it. I googled "belt dressing" and found many complaints about it. For example:

Re: Power Steering fix - Why did this work?

Ooops - wrong car. It was my son's SVX that I changed the serpentine belt a couple of years ago - not mine. My mistake.

The belt in my car came with the car when I bought it in 2004 so it could...

Power Steering fix - Why did this work?

For a while now I’ve had problems with my power steering cutting in and out at low speed when the car is cold. When it was happening I could hear the serpentine belt chirping too. I’ve changed the...

Re: 5spd pics

Hope these help. The guy who did this swap cut a hole in the firewall, then made a patch so he could move the brake master cylinder over to make more room for the clutch master cylinder.

Re: Duty Solenoid C

I didn't think it was the TCU either since they don't seem to be problematic. I think a few people here have had TCU problems but not very many for sure.

I've had done two 5-speed swaps so I had...

Altogether too often in these threads a person asks for help with a problem and the thread just peters out with no indication if the problem has been resolved and if resolved, what the resolution...

Re: Duty Solenoid C

Thanks for the suggestions. To clarify:

1. “having the same problem” does include still getting a code 24 and still binding;
2. there is no chance that Duty Solonoid C was not replaced. The...

Duty Solenoid C

My mechanic and I just did a 4.44 swap on a ’92 using a 1998 Forester transmission. It’s the second 4.44 swap we’ve done and the first one has worked just fine for over a year now. With the second...

Re: Info wanted on spedo chip for JDM SVX

When Canada switched to the metric system in the early 1970's we had to learn what a kilometer is. It's not hard - I had it all figured out by 1996

Seriously tho - even after close to 40...
