Re: 95 SVX For Sale

Yes, sorry that was a typo. The wheels are from an 87 MarkVII LSC.

The paint was like that when I got it. Personally, I would have gone for black on the bottom, or all red. According to the...

Re: Just started 5-speed swap, few q's

It is a 4.11, and yes at this point I will swap my carrier into the new diff once it arrives. I was just worried because in all the threads I never found anything about there being 2 different size...

Just started 5-speed swap, few q's

Hey there. I haven't been on here in a while cause my SVX has been parked. Last winter I blew the front diff, so I'm just now finally getting around to doing the 5-speed swap. I got what I thought...

Oh...ok, that makes a little more sense then.

Re: Successful Performance @ 24hours of Lemons New Orleans (56k death)

Looks like fun! I'll be in the LeMons New England race in July, not with an SVX though. I'm just curious, how the hell did a VW rabbit take 1st place?

Re: Potential First time SVX Owner

I'd stay away from a FWD car. When I first got my SVX, the transfer clutch was fried, so it just never sent any power to the rear wheels. Anything more than feathering the throttle from a stop, and...

I have to work in the morning, but I'll be down some time in the afternoon.

Re: Hit by an uninsured driver...

Have her insurance company send you an official denial letter stating that the policy was cancelled, and then take that letter, along with her address, over to the local police station. Tell them...

Re: Stripping a donor car for a 5-speed swap, anything else I should grab?

Well I didn't get the brake master cylinder, so hopefully everything will be alright with that. I did grab the flywheel bolts though, so I'm good to go there.

Re: AIRBAG light... will it halt an inspection?

I just checked the wiring diagram, and there is no feedback to the airbag control module from the light. The only thing is one wire going from the module to the light which supplies power when it...

Re: Its Ricetastic!

This is my favorite one that I have personally taken a pic of. I think it was a Mazda Protege or something like that, and it had just about every single stick-on accessory you can buy in the ricer...

Re: AIRBAG light... will it halt an inspection?

Really? Is that a subaru only kind of thing or something? Cause I've never heard that before. I kind of doubt that is true, just cause it seems like something that would be quite a bit of work for...

Re: AIRBAG light... will it halt an inspection?

The dash would be easy. Re-assembling the steering wheel to appear to have one would be a little more difficult. However the catch is turning off the light. Airbags have a certain amount of...

Re: AIRBAG light... will it halt an inspection?

I can't say for certain what New Hampshire's laws are, but I know in NJ they don't care about an airbag light, as long as the air bags are physically there. So if the system fails, you don't need to...

Re: RWD conversion

It is a lot more involved than just removing the front axles. In fact, you have to leave the front axles in since they keep fluid from leaking out of the trans, as well as hold your front wheel...

Re: Stripping a donor car for a 5-speed swap, anything else I should grab?

Like I said, I plan on getting a new clutch anyway. As long as the flywheel is the same, I'll get the new clutch for another car. If the flywheel is not the same, I'll have to buy the correct one...

Re: Stripping a donor car for a 5-speed swap, anything else I should grab?

Yes, I grabbed the starter. I was planning on getting a new clutch when I install it anyway. Will I have to order one for a different car, or what?

Stripping a donor car for a 5-speed swap, anything else I should grab?

I just finished grabbing what I think is everything I need for the 5-speed swap. I have a 93 impreza that I am using as a donor car. The car has to go back to the junkyard when I am done, but for...

Re: WTF cop?

HA! I'm glad they fired her. I hope the people whose cars she hit sue her for the damages too, instead of just having the department pay for it.
