Re: 1992 Silver SVX L Partout in Ottawa, Canada

Why is it a parts car with such low mileage? Accident?
I'm just north of Ottawa and sold my parts car a month ago.

Re: Radiator Cracked

It's a bummer that Silla went out of business. They had good rads for under $200 and AC condensers too.

Re: 94' SVX - Does not start - Code 11?

I had this same issue last fall. I ending up putting in 2 new sensors and it started right away.
Every time I have removed one of these sensors which has been on an engine for many years, it has...

Re: Hard Shifting and No Power @ the wheels

A 4:44 tranny from a Legacy/Outback seems to be the best. You'll need the matching gears to put in the rear differential.
I have one from a '97 Outback with the matching diff on my parts car. You...

Re: Craigslist and other finds

I was surprised it got such a high price. It was not pristine by any means and not low mileage either.
There were a lot of encouraging comments during the auction. Prices seem to be on the rise.

Re: Low Mileage 93 SVX for sale

I think bringatrailer.com should change it's name to sellaporsche.com. I've gotten very fast at skipping past the thousands of Porsches listed. Can you tell I don't like Porsche. Panamera is the...

Re: 25mm rear sway bar and endlinks

Is that a solid bar? What material did you use? Did you do the math on the stiffness?
That thing is going to be crazy stiff!

Re: Climate control buttons unresponsive. No tail lights. No speedometer. No tach.

Oooops! Sorry I was thinking of another Subaru. Our '97 Outback has the fuse in it's own holder.

Re: Climate control buttons unresponsive. No tail lights. No speedometer. No tach.

Binding is in the rear. Sometimes it is from sitting around too long and will fix itself with use. Lubegard transmission additive can help loosen up sticky components. Solenoid C is another culprit....

Re: Is A/C compressor servicable?

They are Zexel. There are kits available for Impreza and Forester on Ebay for around $70 so I imagine there must be parts for the SVX unit.

Re: EG33 running rough

Was the former owner a plumber? ;)
I've seen quite a few weird "fixes" in my time but that one is special. Why would anyone take the time and effort to do that to an engine and expect it to work...

Looks nice but it's double what I paid for my '97.

Re: An interesting SVX keyring from Japan

That's very nice indeed. Not ridiculously expensive (yet) either at $74.00 CAD.

Re: Footwell lights constantly on, need help

I just wanted to say that it may be confusing to new members to call the Time Control Unit a TCU. This acronym is usually used for the Transmission Control Unit, which works with the ECU to...

Re: Cup holder on ebay

I used mine only once as well. Leaving the console open to hold a cup is inconvenient. The console has to be nearly empty also. It's stored under the passenger seat in the unused storage tray.

Re: SVX Crash Test

Actually if you read the comments underneath, somebody mentioned that. I thought that was pretty funny. It does cause instability and a possible loss of control.;)

Re: SVX MOTOR in a HONDA INSIGHT

That thing is crazy. It sounds wonderful. With a bit of work it could be a bit more "comfortable".

Re: 48hrs and the insurance gets it!

$5,000 for the salvage buy out is insane. They won't get anywhere near that at action. The cars I've bought back are usually in the $500 range.

Re: coilover adjustable suspension

In the description it says they were damaged and repaired and missing an adjusting knob. Starting bid of over $600 CAD. No thanks!

Good info. One more thing to remove from my parts car before it goes to the scrap yard this summer.

Re: Japanese imports to USA

Sadly here in Quebec you can no longer licence a RHD vehicle unless is it at least 25 years old.
