Re: SVX Engine cooling "Again & Again"

I found the solution. I sold my EG33 powered Legacy and bought a 911 Carrera

Re: SVX Engine cooling "Again & Again"

I am but I don;t have anywhere to put 3.5" of thermostat housing. Going to be running without till I figure this out. Perhaps Ryan could integrate this into my radiator.

Re: SVX Engine cooling "Again & Again"

Vibrant I believe Bill. If you want to send them you elbow I'm sure he'll make another. In fact, I have a spare one we could use as a core.

Re: SVX Engine cooling "Again & Again"

Yes so if you don't run a thermostat you don't run a gasket. It fits round the thermostat plate so wouldn't be thick enough to seal without the thermostat to support it.

Incidentally, I would...

Re: SVX Engine cooling "Again & Again"

Very clear.

Just about to get my modified thermostat elbow and radiator back from TRF to bolt into my second EG33. I'm trying not to re-install the now tiny-looking thermostat but have a couple...

Re: SVX Engine cooling "Again & Again"

Wasn't BoxerSix offering them for sale at some point?

If you could cobble one together I'd be very interested. Sounds like I need to get my radiator modified again though.

Re: SVX Engine cooling "Again & Again"

Thanks Tony. Very interesting thread. Even had some Trevor in there to give it that soap opera intrigue.

I'm in Michigan so my car sees action anywhere from -20F to 100F. Quite a range. My tarmac...

Re: SVX Engine cooling "Again & Again"

Thanks mate. Yes, radiator is custom by Ryan at Thompson Racing Fabrication in Milan. A man you need to know. Perhaps he could expand my outlet for me. What diameter inlet are you considering and how...

Re: SVX Engine cooling "Again & Again"

Well, there is a bit of a rush from my point of view as I'm about to drop my second EG33 into my Outback Wagon. I spun a bearing (think) at a track day with fairly high temperatures present. I read...

Re: For Sale, 92 LSL, passenger side damage only

I might be interested if the engine is strong and the price is right. I just blew my EG33 in my race car.

OBD2 engine with OBD1 ECU

Can this be done? Is the engine just the same with different and more sensors? The reason I'm asking is I blew my OBD1 engine in my race car and want to replace it with the lowest mileage example I...

Iris Valve Verification

I suspect my IRIS valve is faulty as I am getting stumbling and hesitation upon acceleration between 2000-3000rpm. I know there are other possible causes but want to rule this out.

I have read,...

Re: Engine Oil Temperature

I just ordered a Derale kit. It includes the oil cooler, pipes, fittings and a sandwich plate that fits between the oil filter and the block to provide the tapping ports for the cooler.

It's...

Re: Hesitation Found: Ecu Crush Mod Really Works

I feel the same way but wanted to rule out the crush mod as the culprit. I'm fairly sure there was a delay between doing this mod and the current issue but can't be certain.

So what could be...

Re: Hesitation Found: Ecu Crush Mod Really Works

I did wonder about that but only slightly. I didn't see the black dot next to the part number and to be honest I can't swear that my ECU is the same year as my engine. I got them from the same guy...
