this does not sound good. if tran control module is bad fail safe is 3rd @ rev. fail safe means if pulled tran module out would only have those 2 gears.

it sounds like the shift lever on transmission is not moveing.it located pass side of tran you might want climb under car have someone move shifter and see if lever on tran moves back and forth if it...

you might want to ck. radiator for clogged in side cores you can do this by useing infred heat gun.aim gun at radiator fins should be same temp all the way across you are looking for cold spots.it is...
