I was hoping for a quick sale but instead I've decided I will just have the strut repaired under warranty. This will avoid confusion.

I talked to Koni and they said the strut will be covered under warranty but they thought it just needs to be hand bled to get the air out of it. So this is potentially a really good deal for someone...
