starting problem

people remove it because they are lazy or cheap its there for a reason usally what happens is that it gets so dry it snaps in half. mine did that its a 20 dollar part without it the engine is rough....

or there is a crack in the res or on the nipple where the hose goes. if the head gaskets was leekin you would know it trust me you would get smoke like crazy the coolant would be burnin not leeking

it could be coming from your water pump i hate to say or check you clamps on the lower hose sometimes little things like that get forgotten when reinstalling

you may also need to replace your rocker cover gaskets which turn from rubber to plastic with age and cause leeks which when driving blow oil back on parts like racks

you may also want to check your spark plugs make sure they are clean and not failed which would also cause poor mpg and roughness

that oil leak looks like my oil leak right behind the time belt cover which im ordering soon cam shaft seals and plugs which i think is causing the leek as far as the roughness id check and replace...
