Re: Engine misfire on cylinders 1&2

I know this is a longshot, but did you ever figure it out? My car is also not firing on cylinders 1 and 2.

Re: $36 Replacement ignition coils?

Lol! No, I HAD a 5-cylinder impreza.

Re: $36 Replacement ignition coils?

I too am looking for any updates. I had a coil go bad last week, and I've still got a bit of a stumble, so I think another one is on its way out. I'd rather replace all 6 once than keep going...

Re: The beginnings of a Megasquirt how-to guide

Bump, anyone still working on this other than me?

I had a coil go out the other day, so I'll be ordering 6 of the cheap-er replacement ones from this thread.

Re: SVX Engine cooling "Again & Again"

And if you want to get cheap on the management of it, just tie the on/off valve into the IRIS system. You've got a signal at what? 4krpm right there. Pretty easy to tap off of.

Re: The beginnings of a Megasquirt how-to guide

VR2 board installed (at least the power and outputs are good to go, just the inputs to connector to do yet)
Also scavenged an ECU connector from my spare stock ECU. Now I just need to find/make a...

Re: The beginnings of a Megasquirt how-to guide

Got my parts in, TIP122 and a 50w, 33 ohm resistor. Wired it up just like the diagram. It does work, but the resistor gets EXTREMELY hot very quickly at 12v (I can't keep touching it after 10...

Re: The beginnings of a Megasquirt how-to guide

Your understanding of PWM is pretty close, but the only thing missing is the time factor. "Duty cycle" = "On time" (Or actually a percentage of on to off).

If your electronics are fast enough,...

Re: The beginnings of a Megasquirt how-to guide

See I am going to use the megasquirt to control the idle speed. I only assembled the circuit to see if the wiring diagrams were correct for the IACV. From my testing, it would appear that the...

Re: electric water pump for my eg33

Re: The beginnings of a Megasquirt how-to guide

The MS2/Extra does have MAF options. I don't remember off the top of my head but I know one is MAF/MAP, and possibly a MAF all by itself.

That being said, a hot-wire MAF works on temperature to...

Re: The beginnings of a Megasquirt how-to guide

Picked up a spare motor with an engine wiring harness today, which means I get to bench test :D And that I've got a spare IACV to test.

Re: The beginnings of a Megasquirt how-to guide

Because the wiring is different. I'd need to add wires to the stock harness for the IAT, and some more wires for the ignition. A second harness is the way to go.

And they're friggin $90. Eff that...

Re: The beginnings of a Megasquirt how-to guide

Thank you for the info!

Attached is the FSM for the fuel injection, and it shows that for the By-pass air control solenoid valve (Or IACV for normal people) it has an "open" end and a "close" end....
