Can you find a wiring diagram for the 4ws control unit? Is it a seperate unit or does it run off the ecu?

Are there any sensors on your r160? If not then don't worry about it. Swapping to an r180 you just use the rear STi 5x114 axle shafts and they bolt right in. The only sensor on the r180 is normally...
