Re: Trans flairs

I loosened it up some and it seemed to help a little in drive but had no effect on reverse. It won't roll with engine running but if I shut it off it rolls just fine in gear.
I should have known it...

Re: Trans flairs

Now the SVX is my daily driver again. The scraping noise was just a TQ/flex plate bolt that backed out.
Car will not move in reverse. Won't roll down hill or move under power while in reverse. It...

Re: SVXWN - NW Area Group

I've been noticing more svx's in my area lately. Yesterday I saw a red AE and this morning a pearl. There is a black one that my wife drives past most days.
Sadly mine is sitting with a dead battery...

Re: Trans flairs

Little update. Did some more poking around. I'm getting some metal scraping in the bellhousing area. I can see it from the little window area where I put the bolts in to connect the TC and flex...

Re: Trans flairs

And then it died the 29th. Shifted into reverse and it clunked real loud and didn't want to move. Drove forward though (only went like a foot). Started clicking towards where the engine/transmission...

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

I used the SVX TQ even though my high clutch went out and it could be contaminated. The swap one was rusty (just surface), but mainly the SVX one still worked so no reason to change it out I figured....

Re: Trans flairs

It just wasn't getting the fluid it wanted cause the filter wasn't in. Seems to be working good now. Had some flairs around the 4k-5k range but I think that was just working out the air. Didn't go...

Re: Trans flairs

I have this strange feeling that the filter might be the issue... I was thinking about it being the pickup and that would explain the low pressures due to lack of fluid. Hopefully I didn't damage...

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Finally got around to replacing the stock rear speakers and reassembling the trim pieces back there. Saw an SVX getting onto the highway around Tacoma.

Re: Trans flairs

Well in that case the filter isn't clogged seeing as how there isn't one. I have the filter but no bolts to attach it currently.

Re: Trans flairs

By mid gear I mean that it happens while in gear and not during a shift between gears. From a stop I have no issues until about 2000 rpms then I will get the flair. It will then grab back up (quicker...

Re: center brake light?

They are led. Mine didn't work, so I took it out to see if I could find a problem and couldn't. Found one at a pick n pull and bought it. Put it in and it worked perfectly. You should use a...

Trans flairs

Recently tore out the stock trans due to high clutch going out.
Put in 4.44 of unknown mileage and condition (had warranty but is up by now). Used SVX TQ and LSD. Basically the swap took longer than...

Re: GrimmSpeed crankshaft pulley?

Doesn't the stock two piece act as a harmonic balancer?
I remember looking in to this a while ago. General consensus was that there was no ill effects from not using stock pulley. Just making it...

Re: Factory audio setup?

Yes it would. There are probably some built in options but the amp I got fits under the driver seat easily.

Re: Help in puyallup WA

I'm over in Graham. Unfortunately I'm in yakima for training and my car is currently without a trans. Hoping to get it put back together this weekend however. If nobody has helped you out by then I'm...

Re: Factory audio setup?

for low impacts on cargo space i suggest looking for the write up someone did on a sub in the spare tire well. Or I put a small bass tube behind the drivers seat.

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Dropped trans today. Caught it with my chest. All is good though. Over last few days have dropped diff and other various items for 4.44 swap. Taking longer than I intended, but its a good learning...

Re: How much is a 92 AWD SVX in good condition worth?

Did you buy it recently? I remember seeing one for sale that was red with tranny problems if I remember correctly. Saw it on the portland craigslist.

I think 2500-3000 is realistic. There just...

Re: rear differential removal issue

They did indeed. Thank you. It was tougher to get out than I antisipated and than the directions seemed. Gave it a good tug with my framing hammer.

I'm working on removing the rear diff but I can't figure out how to get the half shafts out. There is supposedly a c clip but I can't seem to find it. I've pryed against that green cylinder piece to...

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Went to the local pick n pull. Got a non droopy visor, Center console door, front license plate bracket, and the center brake bar.
On the way back I saw a fellow SVXer. I'm guessing their the one...

Re: trans repair shop

My plan as it stands currently is to hit up the local pick n pull for a 4.44 and diff this weekend. From my research it seems like it should be within the scope of what I can accomplish. Then ill see...

Re: Not sure where to start...transmission is giving me problems

Im in the same boat. I don't plan on taking it to the shop tho. Im thinking about just replacing the high clutch and then start shopping for 4.44 stuff for later. I probably should just go straight...
