Re: HELP! Crank Pulley Quesion....

Just curious, how could one improperly install a crank pulley such that it was offset too far rearward (i.e. towards the timing cover)?

Re: How to get out of or beat your speeding ticket?

Off topic, but why in the hell would you drive a car for 3 years without brake lights?

Re: CEL blinks these codes.

Err... the code reference sheet you link is for an Eaton SVX9000 Variable Frequency Drive. Probably not useful to diagnose engine trouble codes on your Subaru SVX. ;)

Re: OEM Campain Inline Transmission Filter

It's still not a bad price. Especially when you consider the two hoses running from the filter to the radiator trans cooler total MORE than the price of the kit when purchased individually...

I...

Re: SVX & gps today, 4,22 20121

That would work. I just close the console door to hide my NAV. :)

Re: SVX & gps today, 4,22 20121

Wouldn't thieves then just look for the smooth plastic disc on the dash instead of the "rings"?

Re: SVX & gps today, 4,22 20121

Instead I got confused by your fuel level gauge being on the wrong side (and an inverted image). I stared at that pic for a long time trying to figure out how that was possible before I read this...

Re: SVX & gps today, 4,22 20121

+1

I put a JVC dual din touchscreen NAV radio in mine too. Works very well. No issues with the antenna numb sitting on the dash under the windshield, it gets immediate satellite connection every...

Apply JB Weld liberally, and they will work just fine.

Re: Starting/Running/moving failure

Wasn't there similar symptoms posted up recently and the culprit was an internal failure of the Fuel Pressure Regulator, causing raw fuel to be sucked into the intake via the vacuum line?

Or was...

Re: CAI Feeler

Not being one of the original investors gives me the unique perspective to say:

Everyone quit quibbling about this and just get the project finished so I can purchase a finished product!!!

Re: SVXs out in full force today.

Crazy. I don't think I've seen 5 SVX's on the road in my whole adult life. Seriously. I remember about 15 years ago there was one in my neighborhood.

I went through a local car wash and the...

Re: Pass. side hoses to radiator (transmission or not)?

Indeed. OP has since confirmed it's red, so I think we can safely assume all of the above (pun intended) are leaking. :D

Re: Pass. side hoses to radiator (transmission or not)?

Correct, but the cam seals and valve covers do not leak ATF. That was what I was trying to get at-- the pic to me looks more like the leak is an engine oil from the timing case and/or valve cover...

Re: Pass. side hoses to radiator (transmission or not)?

More importantly is that fluid oil or ATF? Hard to tell in the pic. However, the picture seems to point more to oil leaking from the timing case area (cam seals) and/or valve covers... dripping...

Re: Zero Pressure Waterless Coolant?

No real world experience from me, but some theoretical rebuttal. The whole premise of increased fuel economy appears to be because you can run hotter temparatures and reduce cooling fan usage. This...

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Repair of key in ignition lock switch

So I figured I'd throw this up, because my search on various problems (mostly key stuck in lock type issues) and found quite a few threads about this sort of problem. The only solution seemed to be...

Re: WTB: Upper steering column cover (gray)

Thanks. If you do have one, it turns out I need the lower half as well. So both parts that mate together around the ignition switch.
