Re: Case studs

I'm having a block sleeved by Dan Benson (yes I'm back in the game after ten years). He required ARP case bolts so that tells me they are indicated for high horsepower applications. ARP does not have...

making the 14mm studs work

Getting the studs to work first required getting ARP to make them (not cheap). Then I had my local machine shop drill and retap the block to accept the studs. Since I had a set of 11mm studs, and a...

closed deck

To close the deck I used a material manufactured by Belzona. www.belzona.com. It's much better than Devcon and is supposed to have the same expansion and contraction properties as aluminum. If...

14mm studs installed

Seems that my original thread has evaporated. Here's the block with 14mm ARP studs installed. If the closed deck and 14mm studs fail, sleeves are next.

get the block right first

Trust me, before you slap a big turbo and crank it up to 20 psi you better figure a way to keep the heads on. I've been fighting this for years now. The best luck I've had has been under 14 psi. ...

rebello racing?

I know that rebello racing was working on a pair of engines for an svx powered racing plane several years ago. They were turbo charged and I recall someone from rebello saying they made 550 horse on...

Tom

My studs are in perfect shape. I'm not sure that I want to part with them just yet as I am still trying to get the 14mm studs in my hands to make sure they work. Stay tuned.

arp studs

ARP will always make more. The issue is how much they will charge. The larger the order, the lower the price. If enough people get together and order several sets, price should not be a problem. ...

head studs

I bit the bullet and ordered two sets of 14mm ARP 2000 studs. Sleeving will also help add stability to the cylinders. But, at this point, we'll see if the 14mm studs and belzona closed deck do the...

Have not given up on the 14mm bolts. I'm trying to find the most ecomomical way to do it. I may buy the kit from cobb tuning and then the shorter bolts from ARP. I'll keep you posted.

This stuff is a metal based molecullar composite. There's a wide variety of applications and the stuff is strong enough to repair worn key beds and wollered out hydralic ram pin beds. The engineers...
