Re: SVX just not impressing people anymore?
I agree that, if you are looking for a woman who's impressed by your car, youre going at it wrong.
What you have to think about is, does it still impress YOU. With the svx being a classic (and...

Re: Intermittent shuddering
If its not a vtd trans, you have 2 choices to disable the rear drive. You can install the fwd fuse, or remove the back half of the driveshaft. If you aren't going to be able to get it fixed for more...

Re: XT6 power steering system info
If youre going for ultimate max hp, you can gain probably 5-7 hp going with an xt6 pump.
It would actually be a decent alternative for a dd. The system is pretty darned reliable when given basic...

Re: Some of my SVX collection in Rotorua (NZ)
As far as i know, there are very few XT6/vortex left down under. Maybe a couple dozen still registered for the roads in Aust, or NZ. Not many more than that still in use in japan. The early Alcyones...

Re: Mid Engine SVX concept.
Thats an awful good start! I wish i could do that much in a day.
How close are the dimensions on a front subframe to the rear? I cant think of a better way than a factory setup to mount a torquey...

Re: Mid Engine SVX concept.
Handling may end up being a bone of contention here. With the weight shifted rearward, and rwd, it will be very tail happy. I know that in the few short weeks i drove mine with a locked center...

Re: Mid Engine SVX concept.
How sweet would it be if the mounting points were the same distance apart on the front, and rear subframes. You could weld the front to the rear, and greatly simplify the fabrication of the...

How about mounting the motor to the transmission mount, driving the rear diff with a driveshaft. Then use the underhood area for the batteries, and controller? You could use an XT6 electric power...

Re: Mid Engine SVX concept.
This post is amazing for a few reasons...
First because the legendary F1 V-12 sill exists, intact
Second because its actually for sale, not tucked away in a factory warehouse
Lastly because you...

A full tube framed, independent, pushrod suspended, inboard brakes, awd, Mustang II King Cobra. A supercharged 4.0 v6 in it pushing 300+ hp. It would weigh about 2000lb, and be the best handling...

Re: Engine options for SVX?
The simple answer is no. To do an ez* swap, youd need the engine, harness, and ecu for the donar motor. Then you get into all the immobilizer, and drive by wire stuff. The 2000-2002 ez30 is the best...
