tightened transmission band

My SVX had been slipping out of gear. We remedied that by tightening the band, turning the bolt near the starter. At this point, it no longer slips, but the bolt only had about 1/2 inch to go before...

What do I need to...

Re: SVX on the beach 08 ,NJ

I really think it would be better to change this to next weekend. Assuming all that nasty weather really does come our way, I'm going to have to say "no" to this weekend I think.

Roll of the dice election

I'm starting to realize how I should vote this year. I am simply going to take into the booth a six sided die. For one through three, I'll vote McCain, and four through six, Obama. Because, as I see...

Brown slurry in coolant = me confused

I just flushed the cooling system today, and found a load of a brown, diarrhea-like slurry in the auxiliary tank. Considering the heads and block are aluminum, and won't rust, what could this be from?

I think I'm Screwed!

I'm getting to a point where I almost want to cry, because I am realizing quickly how screwed I am :(

I sold my old car, a Volvo 850, a month ago. I got $900 for it.
I took that money, and $1100...

I just found out that the car also comes with an additional running engine with 68k miles. How much could I get for the engine, to help pay for a trans rebuild?

Re: Would this SVX be a good buy?

I'm not going to be able to get the deposit back, and I still owe $1500. What should I do? Either pay up, and put in another $1500 for a trans rebuild, or forget the $500 and run?

Re: Would this SVX be a good buy?

Ok, now my happiness is mixed with fear.

We checked the CarFax...

1. It did belong to a dealer in Vineland, NJ before:
2. The current owner bought it a month ago.
