Re: Fuel Economy
The six speed is rubbish on fuel consumption...

Re: sydney meet up / lunch run?
I'd be in, but I'm overseas for a couple of months, then full-on with a house move.
I've been off the radar for a while, apologies everyone - Viking in particular.
When I get back I would love...

Re: Transmission replacement
There are a couple of 6MT swaps here - myself and Desert Runner.
What is the 6MT like? It's awesome. The car is a lot thirstier, and in traffic it is a cast iron ***** to negotiate the...

Re: I'm alive!
Still trying to sort out a date - likely to be late in November. Because I work weekends, it's a feat to organise a day off!
Hi Michelle! Nice to see a fellow pearlie.

Re: I'm alive!
Organise a run? November? Done. I'm dying to get one in.
I am looking into dates now and will post back in a few days. Will also post up prospective routes, and see where the interest lies.
As...

I'm alive!
Hey guys. I've been off the radar for a while, trying to get my life in a semblance of order. My wife gave birth to a lovely baby girl, but then her health took a bit of a minor turn (all fine now)...

Re: 5 speed swap dead, need help!!!
Do consider a 6 speed if you think you have the stomach for a re-fab job.
I've driven both, and damn if the 6-speed isn't the most mad thing when you first get it rolling...
After you get the...

Re: Oil Pressure
If no-one has test results from any previous stuff:
Anyone have the oil pressure ranges from the Service Manual, or know what the normal operating pressure is?

Oil Pressure
Hi guys,
I was wondering if anyone has drive-tested the oil system in the SVX for pressure:
1- Before/during start
2- At idle and cruise
3- Under load (maximum acceleration and braking)
4-...

Re: 6 Speed Buildup/Versions Recommendations
I was also going to point this out.
Depends on which axle stubs you use as to what you need to do - with mine, I needed to use SVX seals in the STi front diff, however I could have put a 1mm...

Re: Glass roof Myth?
That seriously looks good. I'd have hesitated to put in a flat peice, but that indeed has blown away my reservations.
The cost to get the "slight curve" in the custom peice was ridiculous when I...

Re: Glass roof Myth?
Early model legacy/liberty seem to have a flat sunroof?
If this is the case, even if the dimensions fit, the glass would look a bit out of place.
I've already considered trying to get a custom...

Re: SVX Engine cooling "Again & Again"
You are correct that cavitation can cause pitting and damage, but if cavitation is present it does not necessarily follow that there will definitely be pitting.
The "amount" of cavitation depends...

It's a disease I'd rather have, you know. The cure is much worse than living with the symptoms.
I am yet to line up the two Burgundy cars and check paint codes. There is a little bit of cosmetic...

I am still a tentative interested party.
Is anyone else intereted in this rear sway bar? If there is three of us it'll probably help with shipping enough to make it worthwhile.

I actually saw that and didn't buy it because it looked red, instead of Burgundy.
Shame that no-one realised the quiet addition to my signature line a few weeks ago...
