Re: Parts Cars in Wrecking Yards

As of today, there are three SVXs at the Ogden Pic-A-Part, Ogden, UT. 555 W. 17th. St., Ogden, UT. A silver '92 (engine fire) a black one, not sure of the year, and a red '97 with seriously rusted...

Re: Would also buy a 97 grille

I have a nice red '97 grille if you're interested. I don't check the board much any more but you can email me at the address in my signature.

'97 Grille & Other Parts For Sale

Is anyone still looking for SVX parts? It's been 5 years since I owned one, but I've been cleaning out the garage and found a bunch of stuff. Off the top of my head I have:

A '97-only grille, red,...

Re: WTB crank timing sprocket

Yes, I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it, but it's chewed up baadddd. There's no interchange that I know of.

Re: WTB crank timing sprocket

The Crank pulley worked itself loose and damaged the cam sprocket too.

Crank Sprocket interchange

Does anyone know if an EJ22 or EJ25 (or any other Subaru) crank timing sprocket can be used in place of the SVX one? Thanks.

Re: Front End Shake Puzzle

Well, I bled the power steering again by finding some loose gravel and turning the steering wheel from lock to lock about 40 times rapidly-- it was a good arm workout. That seems to have reduced most...

Re: Front End Shake Puzzle

I thought about it being air in the P/S system because I just replaced the timing belt and water pump and disconnected the P/S return hose in the process. I hadn't noticed the problem before that.

Re: AAAAGh I broke one

Problem is if you pull another intact one that's the same age it will also be similarly brittle.

Re: AAAAGh I broke one

If you can't find a replacement, JB weld works wonders. You could also drill the hole out slightly (and carefully!) and insert a short length of metal tubing and then put a little JB weld around it...

Front End Shake Puzzle

The front end of my '94 LS FRONT wheel drive has begun shaking intermittently at about 60 mph on the freeway- more on curves. It shakes hard for about a second and a half and then stops for half a...

Re: What have you done to your SVX (or other Subaru) today?

Took the horns off my '92 LS-L parts car and installed them on my '94 Dodge Dakota pickup which had a dead horn! Now the Dakota honks like an SVX!

A/C Condenser Interchange

Are the A/C condensers from the pre-'94 cars (R12) the same, or interchangeable with the post-'94 (R134a), or in other words, can I take the condenser out of my '92 parts car and put it in my '94...

Timing Belt Replacement Dilemma...

My 94 LS has about 93k miles. I mis-remembered the timing belt replacement interval as being 90-100k miles, so I decided to replace it, figuring it's probably the original 20-year-old belt. In the...

Re: SVX for SALE!

Yes, you can change SVX HG's with the engine in the car-- I've done it-- but it's like climbing up the stairs when they're right next to an escalator-- why do it? I did it when I didn't have access...

Re: Question about a used Transmission

$1000 seems pretty high. It seems like for quite a bit less you could drop in a 4.44 trans and diff.

Re: Defroster wire

Just so you know, that's not a defroster wire, there's actually an FM antenna grid in the top portion of the rear window and that's where that wire goes. Mine came off too and I think I re-soldered...

What's this in my tranny pan?

It's half price weekend at the you-pull yard near me. I scouted out a Legacy with a used tranny I wanted. Car was bashed in on the side which is probably why it was there. Fluid was nice & red....

4EAT: no 4th gear?
