On some non-SVX (i.e. my Tribeca) housings the extension wires are required to get the power out of the headlight assy and to the ballast.

no, I just meant that the fogs might be too small for the amount of heat. Physically the 35w and 55w are the same size.

I like yellow for true fog lights, I ordered a set of 3k for mine but...

9006 is the correct bulb for the low beams but if you really did want the 9005 just call them and they'll fix it. Don't PM or email them, they don't check those very often.

The short answer is: aftermarket HIDs are currently illegal here.
The expanded answer is: as long as they are properly installed, aimed and not some ridiculous temperature you will not get ticketed....

I thought I'd throw this up here. A company on the BMW forums has a new set of HID's they are going to start shipping. They are a 3/4 size, digital, lifetime warranty, lots of temperature choices...
