Anyway, he said it's been "legitimately" imported from Japan. ...

I'd be interested to know how it's been registered.

Victoria used to have some pretty lax laws about registering imports which have been tightened up of late.

Would be a bugger if you bought it...

Closer inspection...it's got to be. No sunroof or rear spoiler, coupled with the things I mentioned above.

Wonder what he wants for it. I should have used this one for my rally car.
