Actually if I remember correctly you can save yourself the trouble of removing the middle one and just use the mark on the crank pulley to verify TDC..... to remove the middle cover you have to...

Let me ask you this.... when you checked the timing belt, did you verify both cams were in time with the crankshaft, basically you had all 3 timing covers removed and put the engine to TDC?

Try this, unplug it and try starting again. Hopefully you didnt crank the engine too much before and flood it. If the sensor is bad it may start right up with it disconnected......however the ECU...

Its easy, look under your throttle body on the drivers side rear of the engine. Theres a brass sensor with two wires coming out of it, next to one with a single wire coming out of it. Replace the two...
