Re: Questions on how to proceed
Just to update everyone: The new axles are working great!
.. But the transmission is bleeding like a stuck pig, so it has to go... Which means the axles have to come right back out again, and...

Re: Questions on how to proceed
Unfortunately, I got a better look at what I'm dealing with here -_-
Is there any chance at all now that a gasket can seal the trans from continuously dumping fluid on my garage floor now after...

Re: Questions on how to proceed
Luckily I have a Harbor Freight right around the corner so I just bought a set of long pin presses for like 8 dollars. Even with the right tool it was a pain to get those pins out, and for some...

Re: Questions on how to proceed
Is there another 4EAT transmission pan we can use? Mine looks like it has a bit dent in it I'm just noticing. Also its still stuck on there like glue and it's looking increasingly unlikely that...

Re: Questions on how to proceed
Decided to go ahead with the major repairs myself. I got new front axles which I hope are correct and a transmission filter/gasket/O ring kit in today. So far Ive got the axle nuts off but don't...

Re: Questions on how to proceed
The transmission most likely is leaving puddles all over my garage and the oil nearly as bad.
The dealer verbally told me that they could not get axles for this car, "even in the aftermarket". ...

Questions on how to proceed
I took my seemingly well cared for and low mileage SVX I recently bought to the dealer today and they found that pretty much everything on the whole front of the car is leaking. Valve cover gaskets...

Re: The reason I lost interest in my SVX project
Thanks!
I'm still trying to decide what to do with my SVX. No one really seems interested or able to buy it, and I think it would be such a huge waste to scrap it... So I'm considering getting...

The reason I lost interest in my SVX project
Well.. One of the reasons.
A little over a year ago, I bought a 1990 Nissan Skyline GT-R in Japan through a 3rd party. They stored it for me until it was old enough to enter the country legally,...

I have two complete engines and most of a 3rd. In the car now is a stock engine from the junkyard. The built engine has ACL trimetal bearings, cometic head gasket, ARP head studs and rod bolt,...

Re: Advice on how to proceed
They're all still in the block. I really don't know what kind of time I have to dedicate to taking anything apart and sorting stuff out which is why I'd prefer to have like a "fire sale" if at all...

Advice on how to proceed
Long time no post.
If you don't remember, years ago I started trying to build a turbocharged SVX project. It didn't go well. Ran into numerous problems, both with the car and in life in general....

Swapped in the new engine, won't start
So if you'll remember I pulled out my built motor to part it out and picked up another stock motor from the junk yard. It's low milage, but rather old.. Had been on a self for decades from what I...

Re: GI: Parting out built motor
If you can get a new one for 35 bucks I would totally do that. I can't really speak for the condition of any of mine. One set is stuck in an oil pump and likely damaged from me trying to bang it...

Re: GI: Parting out built motor
The one in the center directly above the crank? That's definitely in the oil pump. I know for sure because both that one and the one next to it are thoroughly stuck in the last oil pump and I can't...
