Re: drove the 5mt today....
I am not too sure about the short shifter. When I installed my tranny I decided that just the bushings would be good enough but now you've got me looking at the short throws. It looks like kartboy...

Re: drove the 5mt today....
KartBoy 5MT Shifter Bushings. HUGE improvement. And you said it exactly right: There is as much play in gear with the stock bushings as there is in neutral with the stiffer bushings. I did front and...

Exhaust Manifold Flange Gasket
The major components of my long overdue exhaust (front pipes back) are on their way. All I need now are the incidentals such as mandrel j-bends, flex pipe, O2 sensor bungs, hangers, and flanges. My...

Re: stage oem or stage 2 clutch?
I don't know which tranny you have or what mods the car recieving the swap has, but I can say that if the KSB04 oem replacement from exedy fits (newer non-wrx) it is all the clutch a stock svx needs....

South Bend, IN sighting (Ruby Red?)
I was traveling home today and was stopped at a red light when I saw a beautiful red svx with tinted windows drive by. This was not the normal red and I am not sure if it was a Ruby Red Mica (I...

Re: 5spd swap brake related question.
I used a different booster (wrx iirc), but I am fairly certain that the rod on the stock booster needs shortened. Cut or grind it down and cut some new threads and you should be good to go.

Re: Memory dump of ECU
Well, my progress lately has been terribly slow. I've been very slowly working on F653 over the last couple weeks. The rev limiter is easy to understand since the work on that has already been done...

Re: SVX Magazine Sighting
What's wrong with the VW Golf? My Golf was great it was fun to drive and felt fast even though it really wasn't. Kinda like the SVX, I guess, only the SVX feels more luxurious.
I'll try to find...

Re: Memory dump of ECU
The start of the semester has slowed me down a bit on the code, but I will find some time to play with this. Now I should be able to test weather a couple of the values I have been guessing at...

I am still trudging through this code and I want to make sure i am interpreting this correctly:

Re: Memory dump of ECU
Thanks, that is a big help. That ff was throwing me, up until now I have only ran into the 01,02,04,08,10,20,40,80. ff representing all the bits is perfectly logical, really should have been able...

What the heck is this?
00B090 3C8F84FF0B bbc #0xff, 0x848f, 0xb0a0
ff is 255, so is it looking 255 bits down, or is it some other crazy business?

Exactly. That's been enough to scare me away from the 5w30 for this car.

Re: Memory dump of ECU
I'm not Michael of Phil, but I'll put my 2 cents in.
The 5 speed stall stumps me. While I was in the middle of my 5MT swap I read and reread everything about the 5MT stall, trying to figure out...

Re: Memory dump of ECU
AFAIK you cannot "flash" these ECUs like the OBD2 ECUs. You can build a board and burn chips as Phil describes on his site. Most of the useful parameters are documented and can easily be changed...

I didn't include it but if A is greater than or equal to 0 e25f is skipped and the value in A is multiplied by hex 5800. ...

Re: Memory dump of ECU
That code came out pretty hard to read. I meant to mention that bit 01 at 1025. It seems like some sort of indicator that a default value has been loaded, but I don't see anywhere else in the...
