'92 Black/Burgundy, 109K, $4500

I'll post some pictures soon. The car is in New Orleans and is in pretty standard condition for age.

I've simply decided not to put any more money into this car, and simply get a new one.

Oh, my fault. I forgot to mention that it works just fine in other cars. So, the device itself is ok, as far as I can tell.

So, I'm wondering if there's a power limit in the SVX? Or if the...

On my '92 SVX the cigarette lighter works just fine. That is, it heats up when you push it in, and you could, if you so desired, light up a cigarette with it.

Now, when I...

Well, that explains that!

The cruise hasn't worked in years. I gave up on it after all the mechanics quoted me pricey fixes.

The little nipple that the hose fits onto must have been cracked for...

Unhappy Broke hose/What is it?!?

Oh, and keep in mind that I know very little about cars, in general...so bear with me.

What hose?

Well, well...

I called it a "buzz" in my post but your description of "whining," or maybe "whirring," sounds just like my problem on my '92 SVX.

It gets louder with higher RPMs.

I suspected...

Let me add, though, that while it does not really get too much louder under acceleration, it does increase somewhat.

And it goes away completely when you take your foot off the gas.

So, the...

Well, as to the wheel bearings, I imagine the sound would seem to be coming from more outside the car. This seems to come from the inside center, or from the front...the engine.

I've actually had...

Unhappy I've got a buzz!

So, my '92 SVX has a buzz. :D

Whenever you accelerate, it buzzes, almost like an electric motor. It doesn't really increase, or get too much louder, with speed. It just, well, speeds up a bit.
