Re: Front license plate bracket bolts?

Thanks for the diagram, but only two bolts actually attach the bracket to the car. And since my friend is in a bit of a hurry to get plates on the car so he can drive it without fear of being pulled...

Front license plate bracket bolts?

When I sold the SVX to my friend, I did not remember to give him the front license plate bracket. I took it off the car in 2001 and it sat in my toolbox until this morning when I grabbed it before...

Re: Bad transmission

The transmission is currently assembled. I took the transfer clutch housing off several years ago but put it back on to protect the parts from exposure to the air.

Re: Bad transmission

If pulling the diff and transfer clutch assembly would help somebody keep their SVX on the road or provide them some peace of mind, I would be happy to pull them.

Both the diff and transfer clutch...

Bad transmission

Hello,

I have a bad transmission out of my SVX, which I just sold. The new owner didn't want it. To tell you the truth, I don't even remember what's wrong with it, but you can be pretty certain it...

Re: Took my SVX out of storage yesterday.

Man, I haven't paid much attention to this site in the past several years. The last couple weeks, sure. But will I be around much a month from now? I have to say it's unlikely. I'm at work seven days...

Re: Brake pads - Green Stuff disappoints. Remsa or ATE better?

I used Hawk HP-Plus pads on my RX8 for awhile, and right now I use EBC yellows. I've been very happy with them. Like the Hawks I was using, I don't think they're necessarily appropriate for the...

Re: Took my SVX out of storage yesterday.

Well, all of a week and a half after I got the car out of storage, it's gone. A friend of mine is driving it back to Milwaukee.

I kept it together, but my son did not. He bawled, much like I did...

Re: Pulled My SVX From Storage - Just a Few Pics

Mike, your car is gorgeous. You're the one who brought the fact hat RX8 wheels fit on SVXs to my attention. I happened to have an RX8 laying around! :p

But you do go a bit overboard with the RAW...

Re: PCI timing belt after 50 miles.

Whoah.

I put a PCI timing kit on my car a year ago. I drive the SVX very few miles, but it's been great. I bought a full kit with new idlers, and I replaced the tensioner (not included in the kit)...

Re: Took my SVX out of storage yesterday.

I was never a programmer. :) I work in games, but I'm an artist. I spent most of my career doing environments, but for the past few years I've specialized in lighting. We're like cinematographers for...

Re: Took my SVX out of storage yesterday.

Colin,

Of course I remember you. I think the last time we met was at the USGP in Indy. I hope you and your family are well.

Selling the SVX is very sad. A friend of mine agreed to buy it today....

Re: Took my SVX out of storage yesterday.

I do not. I have not really prepared to sell it. All I did was mention on another site that I was going to sell the car and friends of mine called dibs.

It was not my intention to turn this into a...

Well, look, nobody's even come to see it yet, so I'd take offers. :)

Re: Took my SVX out of storage yesterday.

I told both of my friends I'd take $3k for it.

As pretty as that picture makes the car look, it's not perfect. But it is a very good driver. It has no serious faults. Just a lot of little ones. It...

Re: Happy 20th!

Mine hasn't been my 'daily driver' since 2001 or so. It hasn't seen a winter since then because I've had another car to drive. I put a crazy number of miles on my SVX in the first couple years I had...

Re: How's your OEM jack holding up?

There was a time, when I was first learning to work on my own cars, that I used the stock jack relatively frequently. It didn't take long before I bought a real floor jack, though - the one that came...

Happy 20th!

So, I realized yesterday that my SVX is now 20 years old. It was built in March of 1993.

Of course, I don't actually have it here to give it a birthday pat on the roof. It's in a friend's barn for...

Re: RX8 wheels - tire choices?

Heh, I have an RX8 and an SVX. It didn't occur to me that the RX8's wheels would fit on the SVX for a few years. Of course, the SVX sat in the garage, broken, for most of that time.

I have my SVX...

Re: Bizarre fire pattern...

Stereo equipment wiring is probably a pretty good guess.

Given the apparently common fuel leak I encountered on my car this spring, and its location in front of the left rear wheel, that might be...

Re: SVX with TopGear

I'm excited to see what TGUSA does with that segment. It's fun to imagine which host goes with which car. We know Tony Danza is going to show up with the Caddy, but the Merkur and SVX could go either...
