Clear Paint Protection... Anyone use it?

I am getting my car repainted in November, and I would like to have some of that clear protectinve film applied to the front of my car to avoid the redevelopment of the paint chips that I have currently.

Have any of you tried this product? Does anyone know anything about it?

Well I have heard good stuff about it and I have a few friends who have said that it helps. Just make sure that if you go through with something like this to have a professional do it because air bubbles are like the films worst enemy.:p

$500 dollars to do a new hyundai elantra
a few weeks ago.

It was one of those things the finanace departments pushed.
I let my mom add it on, since there was no clearcoat on the car anyway.

Too new, so cant really tell how its working.

How does it look, though? can you see the seam where it is applied? does it cut down on gloss at all?

You can only see the lines when the car gets dirty but as long as you keep your car clean it helps. It does not remove any gloss. From my eyes. it seems like it makes the car glossier.:p

I cant see any seams(but then i havent been looking carefully) and if anything, it makes it glossier.

the car is black if that makes any difference.

Protective tape

My brother has it on his Lexus. I had to look hard to find the seams. I will probably never know if it works, since he cleans the car everytime a dust particle makes contact with it....

Oh wait a sec, you guys are talking about a film. I was wondering why everyone was worried about seams. The coat I am talking about is more like a protective finish, a coat of some chemical. they call it "paint shield"
