Repainted my stock wheels
This fall I sanded down the stock wheels and put a couple coats of Rustoleum Wheel Paint on them. I would have liked to have done more prep work. There are areas that need more smoothing out and some Dremel tool dimples from where I got too aggressive, but it got cold fast and I was running out of temps warm enough to get the paint on. Anyhow despite some flaws I think they came out fabulous for quick refresh.

Re: Repainted my stock wheels
They look great, Sean. Is that just the plain Rustoleum silver or a clear coat on top?

Re: Repainted my stock wheels
They look excellent.
P.S. That balancing weight on the outside of the RF is bad. It'll mess up the paint pretty quick. |
Re: Repainted my stock wheels
I didnt put on clear yet, after the winter I plan on touching up the areas that need more sanding, then I will do the clear. They are still pretty shiney even without clear.
I just put the wheel weights back on where they originally were. |
Re: Repainted my stock wheels
I did mine a few years ago, if I were you I'd skip the clear. It gets yellow fast. As long as there is a shine, let it be.
p.s. they look great! |
Re: Repainted my stock wheels
2K (two part) clear reportedly does not yellow. Pricy and can "orange peel" if put on in too hot or direct sunlight. Abt 25$ a can at Eastwood.
