Please Help..Cranky Crank Pulley
My '92's original crank pulley just separated and I'm in need of a replacement....I do not want an undersized pulley or anything too fancy...saw one or two on ebay made of lighter metal and all one piece, rather than original that seems to be two parts held by rubber which has dried up and cracked...will this replacement by obx fit wihtout any problems?
Any suggestions, opinions, advice, etc. much appreciated....You have saved my svx before (rerouted brake line, mas filter, etc.) and I look forward to your replies.....Frogman75 |
Re: Please Help..Cranky Crank Pulley
Yes the one piece will fit up fine....some brands will rub the timing cover a bit, but nothing worth worrying about.
And the pulley off any Impreza Forester Legacy (4-Cylinder) is the same and will work on the SVX. |
Re: Please Help..Cranky Crank Pulley
OK- Thanks,,,noticed that when crank pulley split and seperated that it left a small tear/hole in black timing cover behind it....should I care about this? patch it with glue, etc. ?? Again, thanks for sharing your svx wisdom...Frogman75

Re: Please Help..Cranky Crank Pulley
if you take off the timing cover and put duct tape on the back side you can use an epoxy or truck bed liner on the front to seal the hole and then remove the tape. would be advisable to fix it so you don't get any debris onto your timing belt.

But yes, not necessary to worry about small holes in the timing cover. |
