FS: 1992 pearlie MARYLAND: SOLD

.

Last week we bought our son a 2005 Accord EX Coupe V6. Although he has driven his SVX responsibly, he is not a motorhead and lacks the necessary knowledge, tools and desire to do this himself. He wanted something that would give him the piece of mind that he could take anywhere for service and that if something happened, parts would be available. If he moves out of state for college or a career, he won't have the continued access to the expertise that this car requires.

We bought this car in late 2006 from Olu Davis "SvXit", a member here and the moderator of the SVX Yahoo group.

Location: Car currently located at my house in Westminster, Maryland.
1992 SVX LS-L AWD
JF1CX3535NH104155
....MFG: 07/1991
....Paint Color: Pearl White Mica
....Interior Color: Gray Leather
....Options: rear spoiler

Miles: 228,100

Modifications:
....Low-mileage 4.44 transmission with transmission cooler by svxfiles.
....Custom exhaust with Magnaflow center resonator, Flowmaster transverse muffler and twin Magnaflow S/S tips.
....Koni adjustable shocks front and rear.
....A/C converted to R134A.
....New radiator
....New hood struts
....New alternator
....New custom rear differential bushings.
....35% window tint all around (MD State Police certified)
....New front rotors.
....Viper 300 alarm system.
....Panasonic DEHP8000R stereo and minidisc/graphic equalizer.

Major service: None needed
Engine Condition: Excellent (using Mobil1 synthetic oil) quiet and smooth.
Maintenance Records: Most available from svxfiles. Many from SvXit

Transmission condition:
Excellent. Low mileage 4.44 transmission installed by svxfiles. Regular fluid changes. Crisp, smooth shifts without issues.

Glass condition: Excellent. New windshield a year ago

Tires and remaining tread: Fairly new Toyo Proxes4 with good amount of tread left.
Wheels: Stock alloy wheels, refinished in lighter silver.

Front and rear brake pads and front calipers replaced within the six months. New battery, crankshaft pulley.

Interior condition:
Very good. Some usual light wear on the driver's seat bolster and steering wheel. Can be refinished with the SeatsRestore to new condition. Droopy sun visor. Driver's door panel armrest is somewhat matted. All escaine is remarkably clean

Body condition: Very good. A few small door dings, few chips on rear spoiler, some scratches on roof

Known defects or problems: Slight leaking of right front Koni shock. Fuel gauge (and low fuel indicator) inoperative. A/C compressor clutch seized.

Comments about the car: When my son began to drive, I wanted the best and safest car for his early driving years. he always liked my pearlie before I sold it. This car was purchased from SvXit, a member here and the moderator of the SVX site at Yahoo, who always had it dealer or professional shop maintained.

Since selling it to me it has been continuously maintained by myself and svxfiles for whatever maintenance has been needed. Most recent maintenance included replacement of the crank pulley and brakes. The car runs very strong and smooth, no overheating issues whatsoever. The exhaust note is low and pleasing and not harsh. All electronics and power accessories work correctly

Asking price: $1500. but all reasonable offers will be considered

Carfax attachment is provided

John Koni's are lifetime warrantied for the original owner of the shocks. If your boy bought them you may want to park it and send it back for a rebuild since it sounds like he already got his jap crapbox. Last I checked they were charging about $100 for a rebuild plus needed parts. Good luck on the sale.

Olu Davis (SvXit) had the shocks installed on the car before I bought it.

He registered the shocks with Koni and the only way that they will honor the warranty is to send them the bad shock AND a copy of the current vehicle registration, showing the owner and the VIN. This needs to match what Koni has in their records.

Hey John, what do you think it would take to get the fuel gauge/light working? New gauge or sending unit?

Is this sold yet? I'm trying to convince a friend to buy it.

Sending unit.
I'd like to buy this one myself, But my better half thinks that a SC Claret, a 93DD, a Pearlie, a Claret, a Pearlie, a 460 PU, a camo Suburban, a Silverado, a couple of motorcycles, a box truck, should be enough! Girlz!

When was the last time it was MD inspected?

In Maryland they only require an inspection when a car has a title change.
If John brings it out the weekend for The Pumpkin Carve I would be happy to go back over it to make sure it would pass a state inspection.

February 10, 2006. Inspected at time of purchase (See Carfax in first post)

I am sure that slightly leaking right front shock would not pass inspection. Would need to remove the leaking Koni and the one on the driver's side and replace them with good used ones.

Should be no other issues.

But John is bringing the Pristine Green Polo Machine to the carve instead.

I always trust John's standard.
If I don't already have two 92 LSLs and one 96 L part-car,
but only one SVX, I will buy this and fix up the probs and be better.

If I wasn't already visiting family over the weekend, I would. Perhaps I will be able to make the next meet.

Hi. I already sent you a pm, but thought I should post here, too. Is this the original engine with 220,000 miles? Do you know what the mileage was the last time the timing belt was changed? ...is it time for a new one? Has it had a valve cover gasket job recently? Have the spark plugs been replaced recently? I only ask cuz it cost a tidy sum to replace and service those items on the two SVX's I presently have after buying them(except for the engine). Thanks.
