Car Show
Yesterday, I participated in a local car show in northern, suburban DE. The show was run by the local fire dept. for the benefit of the Ronald McDonald House. I entered our '92 teal SVX, 'ALCYONE' which we bought from Nubs in May (thanks Mike). The show was very eclectric with antique cars (model Ts) '20s-'60s cars, street rods, fire trucks, military vehicles , and tons of stock and customized camaros, corvetes & mustangs. There was also a Morris Minor (right hand drive...imagine that) plus a Lloyd.
Just my luck, it rained during the judging. Anyway, I won a nice second place in class trophy which suprised the heck out of me. The best in show class was won by a late model customized Corvete with more painted artwork on it than hangs in the Louvre. The 'children's award' went to a 1943 Chevrolet Army Staff Car convertible with a 50 caliber machine gun mounted behind the front seat (what child doesn't like a car with a big hunking gun). I had a wonderful time and will participate again next year. |

Re: Car Show
Congrats on your win Larry!
Neither of my cars won anything at our show this weekend, but I was impressed with how many people actually looked closely at both, not just a cursory glance. I think I'll spend the $40 to enter again next year! |
Re: Car Show
Michelle,
Thanks. PS: Come to DE......it's only $20 to enter your car in this show.:) |

Re: Car Show
Congratulations.
Would be great to tie a car show into the next "Anniversary Meet". |
Re: Car Show-Help
This may sound stupid, but would someone post a step by step procedure for creating a phto album in the photo post area. I want to post pix from the car show but they are all larger than 1.0 MB so I cannot attach them to the post.
I have been trying for the last hour to upload pictures to the photo post area but they won't seem to upload. I am becoming quite frustrated since I am old and computers don't like me (the feeling is mutual). All of my photo files are JPEGs and range between 1.1 to 1.9 MB. Thanks for any help. |
Re: Car Show
I use Photobucket. If I remember right if the file size is too large it will automaticly resize it?
